The 'Pony Eating Plant' is a large, serpent-like vine which seems to be more intelligent than most plant life, which isn't *that* far out of the ordinary for Equestria. This large vine will slowly creep towards any ponies that walk within their territory, usually trying to attack in numbers. The vines will then attempt to grab the prey with smaller tentacle-like vines which grow from the base of the stem, while the main head can open up to reveal a beautiful array of fluctuating colour petals with swirling patterns shifting across them. The soft and vibrant glow from the petals is so beautiful and utterly fascinating that it is capable of mesmerising ponies, removing their will to fight, creating pleasure and relaxation. Then, the plants will swallow the prey whole through its mouth, which possesses a long smooth tentacle-like tongue that can actually extend out of the mouth up to 3 meters. The mouth contains no teeth, but is lubricated in a thick, viscous, sweet tasting substance, which can also cause a relaxing effect in ponies, and daring ponies have been known to risk death to collect these plant's saliva for use in medicines.
Quite happy with the glow up with this one too, though it perhaps isn't quite as extreme as the Melody Cora one, it's still nice. There were a few things that always bugged me about the original, like how the plant Pinkie bonked on the head seemed to have the leaves inside out XD I tried to draw it with the petals folded back, just because I really wanted to see it's little head. But it just made more sense in the end to have it closed. gyazo.com/7d305b58da9e68dca6b0… I also wanted to generally make the petals feel nicer and have more of a... how to put it... deliberate design? I vaguely remember before having pretty much no idea what I was doin with them and just throwing stuff at the wall, especially when it came to the colours. So in redrawing it I was allowed the opportunity to just have a better idea of what I was doing from the beginning.
It's not perfect, but I think it looks nicer.
Generally happy with how warm all the colours came out and how soft Pinkie looks X3
P.S. Oh, and in the scene where this idea originally came from (which was one of many in my little universe with adventures Spirit Wind goes on), It was during a story where they were trying to find an ingredient Zecora needed to make an anti-petrification potion, which is why the ponies were travelling through dangerous places. Or, some ponies were. I believe I correctly remembered who was in the scene, just switch Fluttershy for Spirit, cus Flutters was the one they were trying to cure in the first place X3 (Don't worry, they all make it out of this okay, and get the ingredient, and everything is fine.)
