i recently reread rubyquest and nanquest.. i really loved these stories years ago, and find that i appreciate them even moreso now! weaver's art is genuinely so atmospheric and inspiring to me. i wanted to try drawing very similarly at first, before going off and drawing things a little more like my usual style. ^^
in the end, i really like how both stories end with two characters having escaped together from an awful place. their relationships are sweet to me, and i want to see them seek comfort in one another after everything...
i like how tom and ruby are rather unhinged, and perhaps could go on to be somewhat dangerous to others in the future. meanwhile, i think nan and santiago are much more likely to keep to themselves and just enjoy their life quietly. it's... really cute that santiago got rebooted into a kid, also, i can't stop thinking about how he's just gonna want to do kid things w nan.. like get ice cream ;; i totally want that for them.... (along with comfort kissing u3u mwah mwah)
