Some years ago (on LiveJournal), TabbieWolf asked folks to throw her combinations of species to hybridize. I chose skunk, skink, mink, and lynx, and so this is Melissa. (The combo was specifically to preempt any simple portmanteau species name, but I'd say her dad was a minx.)
I was flattered that Tabbie chose to color her. I think she said, "Way too much personality... not to color her." The quote at the top of the picture is from OK Go's song A Million Ways. (I suspect that song got associated because "skunk skink mink lynx" sounds vaguely like "one zero zero zero....")
