Because of certain people on this site, I will have to include this warning: Be careful of your comments. Due to the nature of this comic, I will block anyone who makes sexual remarks about the characters, or positive sexual affirmations towards underage characters. This is not up for debate.
The chat bubbles from what I can tell are only black when she is trying to manipulate the way he thinks about sex. She is suggesting ideas here but she isn't trying to make him think one way or the other about them yet.

In hindsight, I probably should have made the last chat bubble black as she talks about wanting two boys in a fetishistic manner, but on the other hand, exposure to the idea of same-sex relationships helps build an understanding that will lessen the chance of taught hatred in the future for homosexuality. It was something I was at an impasse with. But since she's exposing him to porn, it should have been black.

You know. I'm in my middle 60s and I don't ever remember being taught to hate homosexuality. I'm not attracted to it by any stretch of the imagination but I don't avoid homosexuals. That's why I'm at a loss for words when I tell someone that homoerotica doesn't turn me on and I'm called a "homophobe" because of it. I sit here stunned when I read that description used on me since my supervisor at work is an admitted homosexual and I have no problems with him as my boss.

I was never taught to hate homosexuality, either (being a gay man myself). People who hate homosexuals tend to have been taught to hate that instead of naturally developing the intolerance--generally through their family. However, with today's political atmosphere, not being into something is apparently equivalent to hating it.

im pretty sure gender transformation (like instant) is just transformation, esp if it's just for kink... but reth probably wouldn't have the best understanding of trans shit anyway lmao.
eughghg, this still hits terrifyingly close to home in some cases tho. gr8 work

Some things on this page have cultivated a curiosity. Is the fox we see Reth's fursona? It had never occurred to me that she might be a manifestation of someone's imagination simply because her position on the screen changes. Of course, a good animator probably could make an animation react to look like it's actually talking even though it's responding to things being said.

I'm lost with this one but I'm not sure why @_@ Maybe it's the mixed messages of Reth giving "good" advice (kinda follow your heart), but only to fuel her fantasies

Transgender in this context is the fetish of turning from one sex to another (MTF or FTM, sometimes herm as well). The victim may or may not be willing to have their genitalia switched. It's a subgenre of the fetish of transformation which is changing from one form to another, and a common one at that. It has little to do with the current sociopolitical movement of transgenderism, at least from what I've observed. However, are some people that are now integrating the fetish of transgender into transgenderism (example: a character's HRT transforming them and this being displayed in a sexual fashion).

And from what I know, it would be very offending to call TF transgender for various reasons. This is why such term is avoided. I'm not sure where this came from.

That's funny, because I see it very frequently. If you pay attention to tags, you can see people slapping "transgender" on everything, and if you say anything against it, whether you're correcting or informing them, then you're "transphobic."
It's gotten to the point where I've had to start blocking artists since whenever I try to correctly tag pictures for my blacklist to work properly, they remove them and block me from commenting on their submissions.

Gender transformation for sexual purposes (whether the victim desires the sex change or not) is a fetish. They changed the tag from "transgender" to "gender transformation" a while back. https://e621.net/posts?tags=gender_transformation The fetish is still used today, and if there's a species change as well, it's shortened to "TFTG".

I have, multiple times. It's a subgenre of transformation, and I often see it mixed in with the latex community. My first transgender commission was in 2008 and had nothing to do with identity. My first transgender commission related to identity and not the fetish was done in 2016, I think. Click on that link in my above comment above. The oldest art piece is 14 years old. The term "transgender" as a fetish has been around for decades before the useage in identity became popularized.

I mean amid furry circles sure but the use of the term "transgender" has existed as part of the lgbt spectrum for a rly rly long time, sure terms like transexual and transvestite saw common usage but that was mainly among *Cis* people who didn't rly care abt what they called us.
Regardless a lot of your actual trans fans would probably appreciate a different term being used or popularized lol.

I agree that changing the fetish term "transgender" to "gender transformation" was a good move on e621's part, as it clears up much confusion about the two and gives space for both identity and fetish. Reth, on the other hand, does not give a shit, as I'm sure you can tell.

Strictly speaking, use of the word transgender to designate someone of a gender other than that which they were assigned at birth has existed since the 1920s, however it sharply fell out of use in the 50s and 60s. It has always remained a part of the LGBT amalgam however; it's presence in kink circles is a linguistic variant, much like many phrases in kink. Trans is much more than a current sociopolitical movement; not that this invalidates either your use of the term here. If you're interested in the history, I know some really excellent reading sources I can recommend.

Evil as Reth is, she's not quite wrong with the last chat bubble, roleplay helped open me to new ideas or things I didn't quite understand, but its v e r y easy to go off the course of normal and leave the wrong impression, which is what will probably happen here with how new he is to everything
Edit: typo, and yes the bubble is black so its malicious in some way, just talking from the words alone
