Poor Whippy rabbit is confoozled here, feeling a bit handicapped without his trusty keypad :P Here are some pictures of my "foamboard pro" for the ipaid...uh..ipad pro. They say good artists steal, so I borrowed the design of the sketchboard pro. I built this stand for around $20 because I already had the glue, rubber bands, and velcro. That's a far cry from the $120 they want for the sketchboard pro XD. Starting from zero, you might spend around $30 or so for everything listed. Still not too shabby though.
On the last two images, I made some measurements incase anyone wants to try making one of these themselves. Here's a materials list:
LOL! Wiping that greedy smile off Time Cook's face: also priceless. It feels good to hit the undo button on a $1,300 purchase x__x That's for damn sure!

I’ve just bought Procreate myself, but I’m still awaiting delivery of the stylus, so I haven’t used it ‘properly’ yet.
Have to say, I’m impressed with what I’m seeing, and excited to try it out (I literally only just started out drawing a few days ago, and I’m just finding it super-addictive)..!
The copy menu appears when you brush 3 fingers across the screen. I like how there are a ton of little shortcuts (last experimenting with it last night), like tapping with 2 fingers to undo a stroke, 3 to redo... I thought it was kinda neat.
I’m not a proper artist though (I don’t really know what I’m doing), but all I know is that I’m having fun..!

Hmm...brushing 3 fingers gives you that menu, I guess that's what I was doing :P I think I'm just used to having physical keys to press. Been doing that for years and years XD. You'll likely have a much easier time since you're just starting off with a touch device ^^
Which ipad model did you get? Just curious. Hmm...brushing 3 fingers gives you that menu, I guess t
I have an iPad pro, had it for a few years now... mostly been using it for casual video games, chess, and watching streamers on Twitch - certainly never thought I’d end up trying to draw pictures with it (I’ve only very recently realised that drawing is actually pretty fun - I’ve been trying out a few sketches of my Moomin character, and finding it super-addictive)..!
On the help menu of Procreate, there’s a (I think, fairly recently made?) set of tutorials which give a whistle-stop tour of all the shortcuts/functionalities - I only watched the first intro video last night (that’s how I know about the cut/copy thing).
Love your work by the way..! I notice that in your picture above, you sketch out circles/curves for the face/nose... is that some sort of secret cartoon-drawing technique that people use?
Can someone share any good novice tips for drawing toons? Or recommend any good learning resources (for someone who’s just starting out)..?

Wow...long time! I wish I could say the same for my 12.2" Samsung Galaxy Note Pro. It only has 2gb of ram and the pen is like a tooth pick. Plus drawing on it is very laggy. I ended up using it with Kodi just to watch TV away from my desk :P
Ah, I would take a look at that help menu, but I've already started the return process. I think a 24" wacom cintiq will be just right for me :) I like to draw on big surfaces using my whole arm instead of my wrist. It's great for doing smooth curves ;)
Glad you like my work :D That circle technique is pretty common in traditional animation, especially from way back in the golden age of cartoons in the 1940s. Check out Preston Blair's book on cartoon animation, the first version before he had to redo it and take out the copyrighted characters: https://www.traditionalanimation.com/2017/advanced-anim... It's a great guide. I learned a lot using it myself :) John K also made a bunch of lessons for old school animation drawing on his blog: http://johnkstuff.blogspot.com/2006/05/animation-schoo... . Seems to be a bunch of things around here too: https://animationresources.org/instruction/
Hey, have a merry Christmas! ^^
