What species is Batman in the furry universe, anyway...? Because if he's actually a bat (rather than having chosen the mantle of the bat), it really ruins the symbolism. On the other hand, if there are normal bat-people all around the world anyway, he's nothing special for being a Bat-man in the first place. And if he's not a bat, there would be all sorts of folks protesting his cultural appropriation.
