YEP, that's right, this is my first fully finished drawing done with a tablet :'D That's why my lineart here doesn't look super shitty and pixel-y like it usually does XD For those who don't know, I've been drawing with a mouse since I first started digitalart in 2009 I also switched to a new art program - Clip Studio Paint. C: I still use GIMP for certain things though so I didn't switch 100%. I'm still more used to certain things with the mouse than with the tablet and WAY more comfortable with GIMP than CSP, but I'm learning.^^ This pic took longer than I usually would for those reasons, and I'm not TOO happy with the background tbh. And I kinda wish I went a bit more detailed and 'crazier' with Saturn's hair, but I wanted to keep this more simple. Again, this is WAY out of my comfort zone. So I think it's decent looking enough for that.^^ But omggg I CANNOT STOP GUSHING OVER HOW THE LINEART LOOKS, ITS SO SMOOTH AND SHARP GAhhH IM OBSESSED Something the mouse could NEVER do :"D and how I always wanted my lineart to look. ;W; I actually like doing lines now, I used to hate doing it with a passion lol
Also I wanna tell a small 'story' when I FIRST started drawing with a mouse and why. 'Cause I think it's kinda funny. 8) So when I first wanted to get into digitalart back in 2009, I had NO IDEA of a drawing tablet's existence. It was a struggle to learn to keep my hand steady but I was so determined. I legit thought EVERYONE who did digitalart drew with a mouse. Like there was no other way. Well, until I told people I draw with a mouse and they flip their shit and I didn't understand why lol I remember my brother was like "You should get a tablet to draw on, it'll be easier!" And I thought to myself "...Wth is a tablet!?" X'D "NAH IM USED TO THE MOUSE BUT THX ANYWAYS" Then later I found out what a friggin tablet was and found out why my lineart always looked like ASS! 8D And now 11 years later I finally have one and loving it :'D THE END Okay not much of a story but I felt like telling xD I'm also surprised people like, NEVER once pointed out how bad my linework was x"D here's a comparison - Tabletvsmouse by PlagueDogs123 DEAR LAWD THATS BAD Like, I'm legitimately shocked lmao but I guess that's a good thing :XD:
But yeah, I'm super happy that I FINALLY have a tablet over a decade later haha I especially love doing hair and fur, which is kinda why I made Saturn my first subject xD I can't wait to draw more with this thing, especially more of my planet dragons ofc~ :) This is seriously such a HUGE change and improvement for me ;W;
