The winners write history, i say Malaku is simply not the demon fully as he was described, while Samea is not as good as she pretends to be, sending those away out of spite against Malaku out of pride or simple revenge to not let him have anything. People with power and in charge will often abuse it sadly. They are two sides of one coin and one can not life without the other probably as well.

BUT the most interesting question is why are Samea and Malaku messing with them in the first place? Looks like their desire for something giving them power - so in the end both are only looking for power and are selfish.
