It's 3D Thursday! And today it's a SPECIAL one :) Cause once again, I bring you something Downloadable! Source files available to all! And this time, it's a SYNTH! :D
For a while now I've been playign Vrchat and have noticed an imbalance. Protogens. Dear god there are so many protogens there! Like, you cannot be in a room with any more than 5 people without SOMEBODY being a protogen avatar @_@. Don't get me wrong, protogens are cute and great in their own right, but personally, I think Synths are soooo much better :D They actually have mouths to do stuff with, they are sleeker and smoother and much sexier in designnn, no floof which I see as a plus, so much more reptilian and I love that <3
However, here in lies the issue. Protogen base models you can get from a number of places in a number of styles, some cheap, others free :3. Thus, they've spread like wildfire. BUT. In all my searches, I've only found ONE publicly available synth model out there with it's source files available. And it's behind a strictly enforced $40 paywall. >_< I find this especially aggravating because isn't the whole point of Synths is that they are open source?! There's so many free to use 2D coloring bases for all shapes and sizes of Synth out there, and yet the ONLY ONE in 3D you gotta pay $40 for???
I've found a number of other synth 3D models out there as well, but either posted merely as screenshots, or on sketchfab WITHOUT download being enabled (which I just see as an aggravating cocktease when folks do that, really gets to me when someone goes "Hey! I put all this work into this thing and I want you to see it in every way possible, but NO! You cannot TOUCH. It's MINE. and MINE ALONE. You CAN'T HAVE HIM." when literally there is no reason to not make the download available except to create artificial scarcity. But now I'm ranting and getting side tracked.).
(Side note to re-thank again BirdOfLight for allowing me to port his Ocarina of Time Synth model as well ^^ until now it was the only other Synth model available out there aside from the paywalled one. https://www.furaffinity.net/view/38709392/ )
NO LONGER! Because here I present to you, Framework the Freely Available Synth! You can download him, modify him, retexture him, make him/her yours! All because I looked through the Steam workshop for Tower United and found Synthia, a Synth avatar that is free to use on there: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2165345072 and when I did that, I immediately went and contacted the owners of the model, asking if I could get a copy of the source model file to port into vrchat and make available for folks, and they said yes! :D
So thank you VERY VERY much to :iconSpongePierre: and Marcus_Munroe for commissioning/making Synthia, and then allowing me to edit her and now release Framework for everyone to enjoy! ^^ And thank YOU for creating such an awesome species :iconvader-san: :)
