Her parents started out in New York, then moved to Odile's home town near the time she was born. She was a suburban girl raised by New Yorkers but Italian New Yorkers at that, so the values of family and Honor where instilled in her since infancy.
Somewhere down the line Nancy met Gramama Odile, Seeing as they we're both Italian there was a lot they could relate to culture wise, so they became friends, when Gramama found out they had a child she immediately thought "A friend for my Granbaby!" sometime later they introduce the two kids to each other and they hit it off! and Nancy and Odile have been friends ever since!
