Dear diary:
The beginning of the journey wasn’t what I expected. I mean, yeah, I’m with Lucian and now we got a new friend, Drake, but in the process we also lost dad’s pokedex. Now we are heading to Downpour village. It’s the closest to Olmec City where my first Gym fight awaits. And being aware of that, I decided to train a bit more with Lucian and Drake. What means we are now going to be in the forest before entering the village. I hope we can win. After all, Lucian knows dark pulse, so it should be easy.

Draco
The sound of the forest filled their ears as the training continued slowly and surely. Lucian was holding a dark pulse against a rock in his self imposed training while Draco was examining the pokedex in search for information about Dralit.
“Let’s see… here says that you are a dragon/fire type pokémon and that your attacks are scratch and leer in the first levels” murmured Draco who was sitting on his back quarters like a good pup “It also says that you can learn your first fire type attack soon after those!”
“Dra-dra!” nodded Drake energetically.
“Ok then… let’s see what you got there” smiled Draco and stood up “Oi Lucian! Come here for a moment, we need your help!”
“Coming…” said Lucian. He dissolved the dark pulse and sprinted to Draco “What you need huh?”
“We are training Drake for a bit” smiled Draco “I’ve seen your progress and I know you are more than capable to withstand the battle. But in case that is needed… I’ll need Drake’s help. Besides, I wanna prove what kind of attacks he already knows.”
“OK then… I’ll help” nodded Lucian and smiled at Drake “I’ll go easy on you little guy”
Drake nodded and assumed battle position a bit worried.
“Don’t worry, Lucian will not hurt you” said Draco “And in case something goes wrong, I’ll be protecting you, and look! The pokémon center is right there” Draco pointed at the place where they could see the red roof of the pokémon center “So everything will be fine ok?”
“Dra!” nodded Drake as he assumed his battle stance more confident.
Draco smiled at that and took a deep breath. After that, he gave an order to Lucian: “To attack”. Lucian obeyed and Draco focused on Drake so he could know more about him. The wolgon was continuously checking the pokedex aiming it at Drake. And according to the data shown there, he knew two more attacks besides Scratch and Leer.
“Ok Drake! Use Ember!” said Draco and the little dragon-like pokémon took a deep breath and exhaled a small cloud of flames.
Lucian dodged it quite easily and stood right by Drake’s side. He saw the large pokémon and crouched covering with his wings shaking in fear.
“Woah, woah! What you did Lucian?” asked Draco running to drake.
“NOTHING!” defended Lucian open mouthed due to the reaction of his new partner “I just stood here!”
“D-dra…” moaned Drake as he felt the warm hands of Draco grabbing him.
“It’s ok Drake, everything is ok” said Draco and petted his new partner “Look… Lucian is big compared with you, but he’s shorter than other pokémon. You’re not gonna be shaking and hiding of every pokémon bigger than you right?”
Drake nodded and looked at Draco with teary eyes.
“Don’t worry, it’s fine, you’ll get to overcome your fears” said Draco “I know Stuart pressured you too much and he got you injured. But I’m not like him. I’ll take good care of you” Draco smiled and showed his pokedex to Drake “Look, this is you…” he passed the digital pages and showed him the image of a large dragon-like pokémon with flame hair and a scaled body resembling an armor. “This is your last stage. It’s called Draflaren. I bet you and I can take you to this. Don’t you wanna grow and show that little runt that you are a worthy partner?”
Drake nodded energetically and smiled at Draco. He looked at the pokedex again and with his claw moved it back to the previous stage. Another dragon-like pokémon that was called Firegon. He looked at it and then to Draco.
“Yes, we will go thru all your stages until you become a fully grown Draflaren” smiled Draco and Drake nodded too.
The dragon pokémon stood on the ground again and got ready.
“OK Lucian, time to have some serious training with Drake!” said Draco and again he gave the attack command.
Lucian immediately started an all out attack against Drake while Draco ordered him to dodge as quickly as possible. The little dragon managed to dodge some punches but suffered some hits also. Nevertheless, after hearing his new trainer’s words, he was decided to continue. Drake trusted in Draco completely now.
“Drake, use ember again!” ordered Draco.
Drake nodded and taking a deep breath exhaled a cloud of fire that burned Lucian’s tail.
“Auch! That hurts! Why right on my tail?!” yelped Lucian and got serious “Ok little buddy, now I’m serious…”
Lucian ran towards Drake and Draco commanded him to dodge and use ember again. Drake obeyed and sent another cloud of flames towards Lucian who dodged it with a spin jump landing behind the dragon pokémon.
“Now it’s my turn!” said Lucian charging an aura sphere.
“Drake dodge it quickly!” warned Draco and the dragon obeyed, but the expansive wave of the landing attack was too much and flew back to Draco’s arms “You ok Drake?”
“D-dra…” slowly nodded Drake resenting his defeat.
“Don’t worry, it’s ok, you are just a kid compared to him” smiled Draco “I think we need to find more suitable opponents for you.”
“Take it easy child, I’ve more experience in this than you” giggled Lucian.
“Dradra!” pouted Drake and crawled to Draco’s shoulders.
“Don’t be so mean with him” smiled Draco as the trio started to walk to the tall grass area.
Draco stepped into the tall grass looking for pokémon suitable to be opponents to Drake. Of course, he would feel bad to use them like that, but there were no trainers there in that moment. After a while a wild Oddish got close enough and Draco let Drake down.
“Ok Oddish. Would you help me train my little friend?” asked Draco and the little Oddish nodded “OK Drake let’s get ready!”
The first move came from Oddish who sent a flying cloud of poison spores. Draco quickly ordered Drake to evade and use ember. The dragon obeyed and the flames hit directly on Oddish. The plant pokémon answered the attack using tackle and Drake received the impact but endured it holding tight his wings to Oddish.
“Ok Drake, like that use Ember now!” yelled Draco and Drake obeyed leaving fainted the Oddish.
Draco ran to the defeated pokémon and quickly used a potion. The Oddish woke up and looked around. Draco smiled and let her go thinking the help. He turned around and saw Lucian rolling his eyes. After all, he was always like that. Helping everyone was his moto.
“You’ll spend all your potions on wild pokémon you won’t even catch?” asked someone on a side to them.
“Huh? Why you say so?” asked Draco turning around and looking a girl that was approaching to them.
“That if you will be spending a potion each time you hurt a pokémon that you won’t catch!” reprehended him the lynx girl “I mean, it’s nice and all but, you’ll run out of supplies for your own pokémon.”
“I know, but I asked the Oddish to help me” smiled Draco “So in return, I healed him. If I had a pokémon with recovery abilities like a Chansey or a Blissy I’d have used softboiled or another ability to cure.”
“Well, that’s nice and kind” she smiled “By the way, the name’s Katy “I left Komeo Town right after you”
“Really?” asked Draco in amaze.
“Yes, I heard all that dumb head told you… that wasn’t nice” shook her head Katy and then she smiled “I took Sprito as my partner and I’d be glad to have a battle with you. Professor Darcy told me you took Stuart’s Dralit.”
“Yes, he left him badly injured and I’ve been taking care of him since that day” nodded Draco “Besides, I guess he’s getting more experience than a usual pokémon that I’ve seen.”
“That’s because Dralit is not your pokémon” said Katy and Draco interrupted.
“You mean that even I got it thanks to Professor Darcy it’s like if it were a traded pokémon?” asked Draco surprised “I can’t believe it!”
“Well, it looks that way” said Katy and then she insisted “C’mon let’s have a fight!”
“Ok, I’ll use Drake” said Draco as Drake climbed down his shoulder to the grass.
“You re-named it?” asked Katy surprised “And he let you?”
“I don’t think Stuart was a good partner to him after all” shrugged Draco “Anyways, let’s start this! I need to get him ready for Olmec City Gym hehe.”
“You are planning to go fight with him?” asked surprised Katy.
“Yes, and with Lucian” said Draco pointing at Lucian who did a respectful salute.
“Wow, where you got that Lucario?” asked surprised not only for the color but also the experienced that Lucian seemed to be.
“I breed him and took care of him since he was a hatchling” smiled Draco “Lucian is like my brother.”
“And Draco like mine” nodded Lucian surprising Katy.
“H-he can talk!” babbled the Lynx.
“Yes he can, he’s descendant of Sir Aaron’s Lucario” said Draco while Lucian stood by his side “But we’re about to fight right? We can discuss that later.”
Katy nodded and sent out from her pokeball the little fluffy ball that was Sprito. A puffed pokémon with two branches ended with a leaf each one. Her eyes were blue and had small hands and feet.
“Ok, let’s fight!” cheered Katy.
Both trainers ordered their attacks. And the pokémon moved thru the field dodging and attacking. Sprito sent a huge pack of leaves that smacked Drake. The little dragon shook his body and counterattacked with ember as Draco ordered. Sprito received the attack and fell back.
“Sprito are you ok?!” worried Katy.
“Spri!” nodded Sprito standing up again.
“Ok Sprito use leaf storm now!”
“Drake use ember!” said Draco at the same time.
Sprito summoned a huge leafed hurricane and Drake spited a cloud of fire. Both attacks collided and for a second, it seemed that Sprito was winning.
“Don’t give up Drake! I know you can do it!” cheered Draco and Drake focused more adding more effort to his attack that started to get dense as some long flames sprouted from his mouth “Don’t give up my friend!”
Drake closed his eyes showing more and more effort and suddenly the ember attack turned into a powerful flamethrower that annihilated completely the leaf storm.
“What?!” shouted Katy as the flames rushed against Sprito “Sprito dodge it!”
The grass pokémon dodged it but couldn’t evade to get licked by the flames. A collateral damage that gave her a burnt. Katy ordered her to use tackle and Sprito did slamming against Drake who backed off a bit.
“Drake! Use flamethrower again!” shouted Draco and Drake obeyed.
The flames torched the little grass pokémon and left her fainted, but in the exhaustion, Drake fell almost fainted too.
“Wow, even though it looks like a draw, I know Sprito fell first” smiled Katy “You really seem to be a good trainer” she got to Sprito and picked her up from the grass “I gotta take her to the pokémon center.”
“I’ll go with you, Drake seems to be exhausted too and Lucian’s been training for a while so he must be too.
Both trainers ran to the pokémon center. Lucian followed them and after a few minutes, they entered and gave their pokémon to nurse Joy.
“Ok I’ll take care of them, you can wait over there” smiled nurse Joy.
Draco and Katy sat at the sofas and both relaxed there. The girl was pretty exhausted apparently.
“How long have you been journeying?” asked Draco.
“A couple of days, we just started…” said Katy leaning in the sofa.
“We’ve been here about four days…” said thoughtful Draco “I thought you said you left after me.”
“Well, I received my pokémon after you, but I left two days later cuz I had to solve some problems” she seemed amused “Mom never let me go into a journey so when she saw me with Sprito I had to take my time to convince her.”
“Well, in my case mom and dad told me to do it because that’d be a great way for me to collect first hand data about pokémon and I’d be a great breeder…” said Draco and then he lowered his face “I don’t wanna be a breeder.”
“But you did a great job with Lucian!” yelled Katy surprised.
“I know… but I don’t wanna stay at home breeding pokémon for others” said Draco with a sigh “I mean, I don’t dislike the idea, but I rather travel to all the corners of the world and meet tons of new pokémon and new friends! Also I wanna make my research about the legends of the different regions. Galian legends are amazing, but once I research all I can, I’ll go to Unova and try to met Reshiram and Zekrom.”
“Ohh! Now that’s to have expectative” giggled Katy “Maybe you can take me to your travels around the world.”
“Well you can come with me if you want” said Draco smiling.
“Oh no, no hehe, I’ll be on my own for a while” smiled Katy “Maybe later, when I win the pokémon league.”
“Well I have no intention to go there” said Draco thinking “I mean, I have to prove myself a good trainer but if that means…”
“No, no, no” shook her head Katy “You HAVE to be there! I will and I wanna prove that I’m better! No offence.”
“None taken” smiled Draco and sighed “OK, I’ll be there. And let’s make a promise! You and I will be fighting the decisive battle for the championship ok?”
“I wouldn’t like it other way” laughed Katy “Of course… I’ll win.”
“I don’t think it will be that easy” laughed Draco “at least if I get serious you’ll have a hard time to get the cup!”
Both laughed. They had a common goal now and they wanted to show the other the limits of their newly born friendship in a good pokémon battle. Soon after, nurse Joy announced their pokémon were already healed and rested. Drake and Lucian went to Draco’s side and Katy returned Sprito to her pokeball. They went out of the pokémon center and heard a commotion in the village. Someone was causing uproar. Draco and Katy ran to the center of the village and found out a group of furs all dressed in a red and black outfit. They were taking shiny pokémon from their owners and other pokémon that seemed rarely strong.
“What’s all this?!” asked Draco getting closer.
“YOU!” roared a squirrel “That Lucario, hand it over!”
“I won’t go with you” said Lucian.
“And it also talks!” said in amaze the squirrel “NOW HAND IT OVER!”
“NEVER!” howled Draco “Lucian let’s go from here!”
Draco, Lucian, Drake and Katy turned around but they were surrounded by the group. Draco gave a step back and noticed how the squirrel grabbed Lucian.
“LUCIAN!” yelled and without thinking twice sent an order “Use psychic!”
Lucian obeyed and a psychic force lifted all the red and black dressed furs into the air. Draco called him and they ran out of the ring. Lucian let the furs fall down and they recovered almost instantly calling their pokémon: a whole pack of Crobats. The whole bunch of pokémon used air slash and impacted the four making them fall to the ground.
“W-what the hell?!” roared Katy “Why are you being such bullies?!”
“We want all rare and powerful pokémon” said the squirrel “And we will take them from whoever has them! We are Team Chaos!”
“Team Chaos?” asked Draco.
“Yes, and we will rule the world using the power of the guardians of Galian!” said the squirrel and ordered a new attack.
“Lucian use psychic again!” ordered Draco and the Crobats become unable to move and were taken down by Lucian.
“NO!” roared the squirrel “Retreat!” he looked at Draco “That Lucario is pretty strong, that makes it perfect for us… Mark my words kid: We will be back and take that Lucario of yours!
Team Chaos took its leave and the village returned to its quite state. Draco and Katy returned to the pokémon center. Neither they nor their pokémon suffered a big damage, but they had to warn everyone. Draco got close to the counter and nurse Joy gave a quick check to Drake and returned him after recovering.
“What just happened out there?” asked nurse Joy.
“Some punks that called themselves Team Chaos” shrugged Draco.
“TEAM CHAOS?!” gasped nurse Joy “That’s not good… they were here in Downpour Village?!”
“You know who are them?” asked Katy “Back in Komeo Town we have not much information about this kind of stuffs.”
“Team Chaos is a crime organization that self proclaimed the world as their domain and wants to take it over” said nurse Joy “They plan to get the guardians of Galian to achieve that goal”
“The guardians of Galian?” asked Katy.
“I guess they mean Teran and Venta” said Draco thoughtful “According to what I know, Teran and Venta are known as the Guardians of the Earth and the Sky respectively.
“Teran is a ground/dark pokémon while Venta is a Flying /Light pokémon” continued nurse Joy.
“Light?!” asked at the same time Draco and Katy.
“Oh right! You don’t knew right? There’s one more element in the pokémon world and it is ‘light’.” Answered nurse Joy “Light is an elemental attribute similar to psychic, but is actually only effective against Ghost, Poison and Dark attributes. While is weak to Dark and Psychic.”
“Wow! I want to get one pokémon with that attribute!” said in amaze Katy.
“I wouldn’t mind to have a pokémon like that as a friend” smiled Draco too.
“Well, there are not too much pokémon with that attribute in the world” said nurse Joy “Besides Venta there are only four more pokémon that share those powers.
“Four?!” gasped Katy.
“Well, yes, and they are known as celestial beings” said nurse Joy “If you want one the most common could be Agelu, you can find great communities of that pokémon near Shinoben City.”
“The fifth Gym City?!” asked Draco and thought for a bit before smiling “Well, I guess patience is a virtue.”
“You really know how to speak right?” smiled nurse Joy.
“He’s son of the two best breeders in Galian, what were you expecting” laughed Katy. She checked her pokedex and smiled “Well, I’m heading to Olmec City, but before I need to find some dark or ghost pokémon.”
“Elemental advantage?” asked Draco smiling “Well, that’s a good strategy but if you have good partners, you can win every battle.”
“Nice way to think” smiled Katy “Let’s see who wins, you with your friend’s bond strategy or me with the elemental supremacy strategy.”
“Seems nice to me, who knows, you might as well learn from the other” said Lucian patting Draco’s shoulder.
“Ok then, we’ll be in touch” said Katy.
“Wait! We might as well register our Xtranscievers!” said Draco.
“Wahh! I forgot it!” said Katy scratching the back of her head “We can do it next time we see, right?”
“If you want” shrugged Draco “I bet we will be seeing each other frequently.”
The lynx smiled nodding and left the pokémon center walking with decision.
“You still want to catch Agelu?” asked nurse Joy.
“Yes, but as I said, until I reach that place” said Draco.
“Well, you might as well need this” nurse Joy took a map card and gave it to Draco “Here you can check all the ruins and non populated places in Galian” she pointed at a place marked as Heave’s Tower “Here you will find Agelu. They are pretty powerful and you might as well want to have a dark or ghost pokémon on your side to weaken it before catch it.”
“Lucian knows dark pulse, so I won’t worry about that now” said Draco “Besides, I bet that for that moment, Drake will already have evolved.”
“You really have high expectative about your friend” smiled nurse Joy.
“Of course I have” smiled back Draco “If I hadn’t, then he would lost confidence in me”
Said that, Drake nodded and rubbed his face against Draco’s cheek. The wolgon answered with a cuddle in his friend’s head and then he turned around.
“Thanks very much nurse Joy” thanked while he walked away next to Lucian.
Draco, Lucian and Drake went out of the pokémon center with the shining sun in front of them. And a shadowy figure waiting for them: The squirrel that was leading the group of Team Chaos grunts.
“Well, seems like you and that Lucario are heading out” said the squirrel.
“I beat you early and I can do it again” said Lucian.
“I don’t think I would be much fight for you in this right moment…” said smiling the squirrel “But you might as well remember my name. I’m Franky, one of the five Team Chaos Administrators or vice leaders. I decided that this mission would be a piece of cake so I didn’t bring my real partners…”
“Figures…” mocked Draco.
“Next time we see, you’ll learn the meaning of fear kid…” said Franky “And that brown Lucario will be ours.”
Franky turned around and walked away. He whistled and a huge bird pokémon descended to pick him up as he flew away. Draco looked at that and sighed. Team Chaos would be a great obstacle, but if they were planning to kidnap Galian’s guardians, he was decided to step between them and their goal. And apparently Lucian and Drake were thinking the same.
Second chapter of Soaring Earth! I hope you all liked chapter one, and of course, I hope you enjoy this one too. By the way it's rated Mature due to the theme of certain relation in there hehe I don't quite remember if it started here or in the next... I don't wanna spoil it hehe
