Kz has been urging me for some time now to design a phoenix "mount" for Alma. It always seemed like an interesting enough idea, but I had to let it turn over in my mind for a while before I really acted on it. Anyway I thought a goose-looking phoenix might be kind of fun, so that's what I went with. Not set on a name yet, but I'm sure that will come to me eventually. Perhaps these two will meet in the next Alma adventure!... though that will be a long time from now, to be sure.
having your trusty (or is it "trusty"?) mount come down and snatch you off from the persuers in the nick of time is always a good thing to fall back on :D
Can the goosenix's webbed feet even "grab" Alma?

I still cannot believe how absolutely marvellous this turned out!
Everything is incredible. Alma and her detailed clothes and hair, down to the inner lining of her jacket, her footware and buttons. The phoenix and its tiny scales on its feet and beak, its plumes and webbed feet, the rubies on the bird's necklace, and the shading gives it a real sense of space. It feels like a 3D picture in which Alma is between the wings and each feather can leap out at you at ani moment.
This might sound grandiose, but this is probably the culmination of all your skills in one picture, your masterpiece so far. It's the most impressive picture I've seen in a long time and it really showcases your talent and skill for bringing characters to life.
