His father was soon dumped by his wife shortly after Stiban's birth and he eventually moved to the coast of Desatia(a science based country and rival country to Fortunia, a magic based country) to have distance from society at a very young age. While this has helped with Stiban as he despite being slow to learn he was humbled due to the fact that he grew up self taught and was able to reliably take care of himself at the age of ten. At the age of eleven he was taught how to fish by his father which was the business his father ran. One day his father left him to deal with some business but he managed to get into a car accident. While his father did make it out alive when Stiban came to see him his father was nowhere to be found. Leaving him alone. Ever since then the poor boys luck ran out and he was forced to live off the land and try to make as much money as he could before it was all taken away from him by taxes.
