The night is early and the moon is full, its eerie light illuminating the waking grounds of Witch’s Hollow. The black cat sits and waits, wanting and eager with anticipation. Ever year she yearns for Halloween, the best night of the year.
In the distance, she finally hears it – the werewolf’s howl. Its deep cry startles the bats and makes her body shudder in remembrance of their time together last year. Soon they will be together again and this time, she’s determined to make this year’s Halloween even better. In a bag beside her she has goodies tucked away – her holiday “treats” if you will – vials of varying potions, the Raven’s signature moonshine, and ahem other things to keep this night interesting and fun.
With a tingle of dark magic in their air, she can sense that the werewolf is near, and sure enough his lumbering black body emerges from the tree line across the Hollow. His chest heaves, he scents the air, and then beaming red eyes catch her waiting at the wall. He’s fast, moving like a blur – or a 200 pound freight train ready to crash into her. But he’d never hurt her, not like that. Not her wolf.
The bond they share is magical and powerful, its strength increasing with every foot of distance shredded between them. When they meet, it’s like a bomb explodes, engulfing their bodies in heat and merging their bodies into one.
Possessive and lustful, dark and powerful – only time will tell if this relationship of theirs is truly a treat or just another Halloween trick.
I love the little vignettes you write for your posts. The art is wonderful all on its own, but the little story really sets the scene and adds so much. I love the feline's anticipation and her planning for the werewolf's arrival, and her yearning and uncertainty as to what the future might hold. Tinged with just enough hope to make it rather sweet, I think. And my goodness, but the picture itself is gorgeous! I love the detail of the spooky eyes peeking out from the crack in the wall, and the bole of the tree behind them. The feline is simply gorgeous, too, especially her green eyes. The werewolf is the embodiment of ferocity from his glowing red eyes to his long, sharp claws, and yet there's an undeniable tenderness between them, and a definite feeling that, no matter what, he will always protect and cherish his lady. We should all be so lucky as to have such devotion in our lives as these two, and you've done an amazing job all around!
