Okay, first... I am SOOOOOO sorry for how small this image is. When I was working on it, well over a year ago, probably two years now, I thought I was working on a large 1000x1000 or bigger canvas... Well, it turned out that I zoomed into the canvas on the size that you see. I didn't know it until hours later when I finished it. There was and is no way that I'm redoing it... not now at least.

So, Katia's room is on the left. Her bed is the one with the panda bears (not in relation to Lin. I just thought they were a cute bed sheet pattern.

I'm not sure if the dimensions of this drawn room matches what I have in the story. Though, it doesn't really matter, its just to show you their room.

I missed a few things in drawing the room, I'm sure you can spot them fairly quickly...
No fish tank
No Fridge... The Fridge sits just to the top of the bathroom door

The blue square on the desk that says "LAP" is their Laptops, tablet, whatever.
The book shelf is actually smaller than what I have it in the story, I think. I think I should have expanded it across the entire desk. I guess it doesn't really matter.

I'm sure you can also see the other error that I made... How does Katia get a 90 gallon fish tank between the bed and the desk?! XD

If I ever do decide to remake this room, I'll change it up a little bit. I'll give them some extra space between the bed and the desks and maybe an extra cubbyhole for that fridge, I don't know.

This was one of the hardest blueprints/layout that I've created. It's such a small room and to pack all that into it wasn't easy. I had other ideas for the room but I wanted it to be quite a small room, compared to what Katia was used to. I wanted a cubby hole right at the bathroom door for the fridge and a few shelves to set stuff on, but if I did that, it would jut out quite far into their living space, so that was scrapped.

The window opens up just 6 inches to let fresh air inside. They do have AC and Heat in the rooms, that each room can operate on their own. The bathrooms do not have heat but do have an AC duct from the main building, the duct can be opened/closed by the occupants.

The shower, with the X, with the TWO weird squiggly lines... The squiggly lines are shower curtains/privacy curtains (the outer one is the privacy curtain). The little square inside is a counter/shelf to hold your towels, clothes, etc.

The red box between the two sinks is a storage cabinet with a door (not shown). It's large enough for extra towels, rags, soap, etc. But most of that is kept with the personal effects of the occupants in their closet or boxes or wherever they keep their stuff at.

That's all that I can think of now...

Anyway, hope you like their dorm room.

Ha, that layout reminds me of my own Freshman dorm room! The only difference is that we didn't have connecting bathrooms, we just had a communal one with stalls for the floor.

I bet a lot of dorm rooms look like that or are quite similar.

I did think about having communal bathrooms but decided against it for a bit of story plot (neighbor walking into their bedroom), I figured that would be a nice way to do an introduction of a new minor side character XD

You did this rather well.  However, as a former architectural drafting student, I feel I should point out that, unless things have changed in the last 40 years, the dimensions of the room would be to the exterior, not the interior, walls.  The dimensions of the room would be inside of the room. In other words, the room's dimensions, 20'4" X 14'1", would be written on the "floor" of the room and the exterior dimensions would be written between the lines extending from the exterior walls.  You did very well with the 6" thick interior walls and exterior walls are, normally, about 8" thick depending on the wall's construction material.  If I had a CAD program on my computer, I could show you what I mean.  Believe me when I say, architectural drawings can be very complicated and specific.  Sorry for sounding overly critical but, unfortunately for me, I notice these things.

You're all good.

Buuuuut, if you look a little closer, you'll see that I actually put the short block lines to the interior of the room and walls :P

As for wall thickness, I really don't go to that much detail in any house/room plans that I do. I use a simple lines and don't like having to remember which thickness size I used for the different things.

Thanks.  People have to remind me to not be critical when I critique.  I think that comes from my father.  He was extremely critical of almost everything I ever did.  I'm not as bad as he was (thank God!) but I do have to be very, VERY careful with my wording.

No worries, you're all good!

I honestly can't remember if I added the interior wall thickness to the overall size or not. I should try to get some easy blueprint/floor plan software to do house/room plans. I've tried a few but they're just too much work for me. I've even tried going as far as building them in Blender to try to have a 3D model of them as well, but lol that didn't work out well XD

I do like to hear what others think and note/point out my mistakes.

Also, I just noticed that I DID make the interior walls a little thinner than the exterior walls. I was just waking up when I replied to you, sorry about that XD

I really do want to rebuild their dorm room. I wasn't too happy with it, mainly being so crammed and me not being able to fit in everything into the graphic that I mentioned in the story... The mini fridge, her fish tank and I think something else.

There's one thing that I would love to have done, the Wolfe family mansion as a full 3D model with exterior and interior, the hidden doors and passages, fish tanks, everything (including the new added floors and huge open attic). I tried doing it myself once in Blender (as mentioned above) but I just couldn't get anything to look good. This was before I changed their house layout, it used to be they had a grand-staircase near the front door but then I changed it to what it is now.
