"I've made that walk many times. You look out over the city and you don't see anything but the lights. It's quiet except for the sound of your footsteps and if you listen closely you can hear the city breathe. It's magical. The calm before the storm."
Nir: Hey, Krinny..? Can I ask you something? It's been something I've been meaning to ask you for awhile.
Krin: Hm? You, ask me for something? *Snickers* Well, that's new. Alright, what would you like?
Nir: It's just that.. I wanna take a trip back home to Japan, because the Cherry Blossom festival will be taking place soon... So, I was wondering if you could go with me to it?
Krin: To Nishinomiya? ..What for exactly?
Nir: Well.. It's always been my dream to share a kiss under a cherry blossom tree during the festival with someone special to me.
Krin: ....H-Huh..?
Nir: *Smiles gently* I just want to share a wonderful, unforgettable moment with you Krinny. I know you don't like me the same way I like you... But at least I'll always have a moment like this to cherish for the rest of my life.
Krin: ....N-Nir... T-That's the reason why...? *Stares in disbelief*
Up until that point, Krin thought it was just childish infatuation, just like the rest of Nir's usual demeanor around him—-but after hearing that, it hurt Krin to his core to know just how much he underestimated and downplayed Nir's feelings like that. Even so, regardless Nir's opinion never faltered about Krin once for the 4 years that he's known him. Just simply knowing that Nir would be happy to settle for one unforgettable moment to cherish after coming to terms that Krin wasn't ever going to return those sentiments, it broke Krin's heart. And to top if off, that's the one and only thing Nir has ever asked him for.
Needless to say, Krin felt it was the very least that he could do. He'd feel like a heartless monster if he'd ever refuse to do that.
Nir's words have echoed in the realm of Krin's mind ever since they've left his lips before their trip to Japan-- repeating once again as he stands before the sweet hybrid under this cherry blossom tree. The mixed feelings of affection, fondness for his best friend, guilt, fear, among others race through the caracal's mind as he holds his hands in the ligon's; seeing the smaller male gaze up to him with those pure, seraphic blue eyes makes his heart skip a few beats.
Krin's thumbs idly and anxiously rub over the confines of the ligon's silky soft paws, glancing over his best friend, just looking so completely calm, content, and deeply happy he's getting to share this moment. Nir wasn't upset in the slightest, held no contempt/spite for the caracal for not returning his sentiments--- not a single negative emotion could be seen on the ivory furred male. This truly meant a lot to him and nothing but fond gratitude reflected in those vibrant eyes.
"Alright, h-here we go~" Krin nervously chirps in, voice almost cracking from how much tension was mounting in his neck.
"Hehe, yep~ ❤" Nir chimes right back in cheerfully, smiling lovingly up to the bigger male.
Krin's heart was racing in his chest, time slowed to a crawl as he was leaning down to eventually lock lips with the sweet male below him; Nir tippy-toes up a little bit and happily returns the sentiment. Krin could practically feel the happiness and pure content from basking in the moment-- and he made sure this wasn't a little peck, he was going to make this count... or was it just for Nir?
Before Krin knew it, a surge of emotions rushes over him--and he felt something he's never truly felt before... it was like a missing piece of a puzzle that he just now happened to find. To Nir's surprise, Krin grabs up on him and holds him closer, drawing him in to deepen the kiss--as he just felt compelled to not let go. He...just needed this, more than he realized that he did. Nir's eyes widen a bit as a blush creeps over his cheeks more, not really expecting Krin's sudden passion... but not like he was going to complain all the same. Nir's eyes slowly flutter closed and he melts into the kiss, certainly becoming magical--- and it was just how Nir dreamed it would be to share a kiss with the one he thinks of as his beloved.
For a kiss that seemed like an eternity to the both of them, Krin finally pulls back, leaving the both of them breathless as a result, lightly breathing hard as if they almost forgot to breathe during that period of time.
"..Hehehe... W-Wow Krinny... I um.. I've got goosebumps all ove---" Nir tries to process what just happened, not expecting Krin to sweep him off his feet like that.. but with what Krin interrupts his train of thought was about to set the precedent.
"Nir..? ....I...I love you." Krin whispers, but outwardly just says it.
Nir just suddenly freezes and his ears perk straight up, staring at him in disbelief, almost like he genuinely believed he had truly misheard what he said.
"Krinny..... W-What did you just say..?" He asks, completely flabbergasted, it almost sounding too good to be true.
Krin squeezes Nir's hands and looks at him with his amber eyes, Nir getting to see Krin wasn't playing around--- he meant what he was about to say yet again, "Nir... I said: I love you." No hint of sarcasm, no snark, this was 100% genuine.
Nir's eyes widen as there was no mistranslation, he had heard the caracal's words crystal clear. He almost thought he was genuinely dreaming here, before tears well in his eyes, followed by the sound of a happy, yet emotional sniffle coming from the androgynous male--as he was just overwhelmed with the sheer amount of happiness and pure elation those simple three words had on the ligon.
4 years of loving someone from afar, only to come to terms feeling like it was something that was unreachable for him... but now not only have that person return those feelings genuinely... and in his dream scenario he's longed for ever since he was a cub--- needless to say, Nir breaks down and cries happily, suddenly clinging to his* caracal now.
"H-Hey~! Heheh.." Krin's heart warms at seeing the ligon reacting like this, clinging up to him, the sheer strength of this boy certainly forced some air from his lungs thanks to that iron grip, "Easy now~ You're gonna get my kimono all wet if you keep that up." He chuckles playfully and pets along the overly happy male's silky hair, combing his fingers through it affectionately.
And out of pure impulse, Nir was overwhelmed with such intense happiness, that he easily hoists the caracal up in his arms, prompting a surprised mrewl from the grown male as he is easily lifted like he were a small child to the ligon. Nir looks up to Krin, more happy than he's ever been, beaming like a child on Christmas morning. "Oh Krinny! ❤❤"
Before Krin could even get in a word edge-wise, he gets bumped up against the tree behind him, knocking a small shower of cherry blossom petals free from the branches above, practically dancing around the two felines beneath. And the moment he'd go to open his maw, it was now Nir's turn to enrapture his beloved in a deep and passionate kiss--- now letting it be the caracal's turn to be surprised from this reaction.
