Princess Ashling had been caught by the guards that work for Prince Donovan when she was under investigation to see what the evil prince and his minions were up to, only to later find herself in the dungeon and confronted by none other than Donovan himself and his jester Craig who attempt to persuade Ashling into telling them how she got in so easily without his guards knowing the first time and get her to spill the secrets of the her kingdom's defenses, to which Ashling refuses to say anything that would only mean turning her back on everyone she cares about. Irritated by this, Donovan mentions he'll be waiting in the interrogation room to get it ready and then leaves, signaling something to Craig, who then tells Ashling that he hopes she's in the mood for a good laugh before he leaves. Ashling can only be confused by what he means by that until two guards show up and drag Ashling out of the dungeon to bring her upstairs where Prince Donavan and Craig wait in the interrogation room. He signals for them to tie her up good in the chair tight enough to prevent escape, which they do, and blindfold her to make this more exciting for Donovan as he interrogates, feeling there is no rush to get answers from her right away and will take his time doing what he needs to do in getting Ashling to talk. Even though she can't see what's happening, Ashling can feel Craig take hold of her ankles and remove her purple shoes to place and lock them in mini stocks. And while she can't see that he has already prepared a collection pile of good quality feathers, it starts to finally make sense that they are planning to tickle her until she gives them what they are after. Even when Donovan starts to boast about how helpless she is and how he doesn't need an iron maiden for the job, Ashling struggles to keep her dignity from losing and claims she is not afraid of what he attempts to do, finding it silly that this his idea of trying to persuade her, when most corrupted tyrants have a torture chamber. And by this, Donovan can only laugh as he only uses the torture chamber on his most hated enemies, and while Ashling may be the daughter of King Henry, he doesn't want to risk accidentally killing her before she can tell him anything. He gives her three chances to tell him what he's after, and if she keeps refusing up until after the third and last chance, she will be given hiccups that last for a week that no tonic can cure fast enough.
