Whispers of Love

Silver gulped as he flew all the way to Spiral Hill Village, his heart was beating extremely fast in anticipation at what was going to happen: Whisper the Wolf, also known as the Guardian Angel, agreed to go out with him! He couldn’t believe that he’d get to know his heroine better and for that he had to thank both Blaze and Tangle who had managed to convince the laconic wolf into accepting his proposal. He’d been preparing for weeks: he rented a fine black tux, he booked a table at a fine restaurant and he went classic by buying a bouquet of roses and a box of chocolates, yet he was still nervous: he’d never been on a date before and he was so scared to blow this up and ruin his chance of getting closer to Whisper.
“C’mon, man, snap out of it! Blaze is right, you worry too much! It’s going to be alright, it’s just a dinner after all… Aaaaaaaaand I’m talking to myself again…” he groaned as he arrived at Spiral Hill Village and landed right in front of Tangle’s house, Whisper was living there with the hyperactive lemur for the time being. He swallowed hard and knocked on the door, adjusting the green bowtie on his neck, then as it opened he was greeted by Tangle herself, who smiled and gave him a maybe too generous slap on the back.
“Hey, Silv! Wow, ya look good! Though, it’s not my call to tell, hehehehe…” she giggled as Silver groaned after the slap, then he looked at her: she was wearing a mustard long gown and top, with a white boa around her neck and a pair of sparkly yellow shoes.
“Are you going out too?” he asked while rubbing his arm as she let him in.
“Yup, with your buddy Blaze” she giggled as she skipped in “She preceded you here, actually!” she said as she walked him to the living room, where Blaze was. She sat on the couch and sipped on some rose-scented tea as she waited to go. She wore a black tuxedo, like Silver, only with a bright pink, almost red, bowtie and she had black ballet flats shoes. She saw Silver and smiled, waving at him.
“Hey, Silver. Took you long enough to get here” she said smiling and making him sit next to her, wrapping an arm around his shoulders in a fraternal way like she always did.
“I don’t have your confidence… I had to pep talk myself for a good quarter of an hour before I could go out…” he said sighing, he used to have a crush on Blaze but once he found out that she was homosexual he diverted his attention towards other females.

As he thought of that, Whisper slowly came downstairs. Silver widened his eyes: she looked astonishing! She wore a sleeveless black long dress with white gloves that reached her elbows, she wore a fancy necklace and her hair had been tied behind her hair in a ponytail. She got down and looked down and away from everyone, a gentle blush shimmered on her face which made Tangle and Blaze giggle.
“...H-Hi…” she said with a low voice tone, Silver was truly enraptured by her beauty and shyness, which made him feel just a bit more confident. Blaze pushed Silver up and Tangle made him go to her, making him yelp and almost lose his balance.
“Woah! Uhm… H-hey, Whisper… Uh… Y-you look great…” he stuttered.
“...Th-thanks…” she replied, wagging her tail as she took a long time to figure out how to look, sure Tangle and Blaze helped but she was clearly out of her regular element.
“Uhm… I got these for you…” said Silver giving her the bouquet and the box of chocolates.
“Oh… Thank you…” she said taking them, despite her neutral tone she actually liked what Silver gave her. Silver peeked behind him, seeing the two girls nod and point their thumbs up with a dopey grin.
“Ok, so… Shall we go?” he asked, trying to sound chivalrous as he stretched out his hand.
“Ok…” said Whisper, gently placing her hand on his and walking out with him. As they were alone, Tangle and Blaze held their hands together and shrieked in happiness.
“It’s going swimmingly well!” said Tangle giggling and wagging her elongable tail.
“Yeah! Uh-uhm… Let’s go to the restaurant, shall we? We can precede them with my portal, but… Are you sure we should do this? I mean… Spy on them sounds so… Creepy” said Blaze, raising a brow as she regained her composure.
“100%! I need to see how it goes!” said the lemur nodding and giggling. Blaze nodded and opened a fiery portal on the ground, going in with Tangle.

Things couldn’t have started worse for Silver: out of the blue it started raining, the rain fell down strong onto them. Whisper whined as she was getting wet, but Silver managed to solve this with his powers, forming a cyan bubble around them.
“Geez, what perfect timing…” Silver grunted sarcastical before looking at Whisper “Are you ok?” he asked, gulping as he wasn’t expecting such a rocky start.
“Ugh… Y-yeah… Brrr, it’s cold…” she whimpered and shivered as she was pretty open and the downpour was cold. Silver had no choice but to hug her closer, he knew she hated close contact but he didn’t want her to freeze. She was a bit surprised as he pushed her closer to him, but instead of pushing him away she wrapped her arms around his waist, cooing a bit as he was very warm and making him blush a bit and wag his tail. Luckily the restaurant was a few blocks away from Tangle’s house so they arrived pretty soon at Chez Mobiàn, the most trendy restaurant of the village. As they came inside Silver removed the bubble around them and wringed his hair to dry them.
“It’s such a pain to have long hair…” he groaned a bit.
“I can relate…” said Whisper as she did the same, then they went to the reception.
“Bonsoir, messieurs. Do you have a reservation?” asked the weasel maitre at the front desk.
“Yes, search for Silver the Hedgehog, please” said the future hedgehog. The maitre digited the name but shook his head.
“Sorry, monsieur, but your name doesn’t appear…” said the weasel, making him gasp.
“I-Impossible, check again!” he said, trying to contain his voice as he was more than sure to have booked a table here. The maitre checked again but once more shook his head, making him lower his ears and making Whisper fold her arms, slightly ticked.
“Sorry but you’re not on the list. I’m afraid I must ask you to…” the weasel said when suddenly the owner of the restaurant appeared.
“Mister Silver, miss Whisper, such a pleasure to see you! Is there a problem?” asked the owner, a chubby lion.
“Yes, I booked a table here but the maitre says I’m not on the list…” he said, trying to contain a whine as he didn’t want her to think of him as a whining manchild.
“Weird, I remember clearly that you did booked here… Hold on…” said the owner, moving away the maitre and checking himself “Ah, there you are! Table 36, our finest one! Pardon, these computers sometimes can be as stubborn as mules…” said the lion, making the two come inside. The maitre stared at them going away and grunted as he left.

The owner showed them their table, right beside a huge window that made them see the beauty of the valley below during the downpour, and left. Silver sighed and thanked his luck as he made Whisper sit first, then he sat in front of her.
“Phew, that was close, right?” asked Silver, giggling nervously.
“Indeed…” said Whisper, getting comfortable. Not far away, Blaze and Tangle spied them from the table.
“Geez, we avoided a storm, huh?” asked Tangle to the royal lilac cat.
“Yeah, but they didn’t… Plus, that whole shenanigan at the front… Poor Silver…” Blaze sighed.
“Well, things seem to have adjusted now…” said Tangle while peeking at them, they were a couple of rows away from their friends and positioned in a way that they could watch without being discovered.
“For now…” said Blaze sighing and trying to decide what to eat. Meanwhile Silver and Whisper chose what to order as well, starting with some appetizers, and while waiting they started chatting.
“So… you come from the future, right?” asked Whisper, weirdly she felt like starting the conversation for once.
“Oh yes. 200 years from now.” said Silver nodding
“How is it?” she asked, allowing herself to dig a bit more into his past, she found him to be a sweet guy and really wanted to know him.
“Well, we’ve had our ups and downs but after defeating Eggman last time, it seems like my timeline is fixed for good. The sky is as pretty as it is now, the cities are being rebuilt and everyone cherishes life.” he said smiling, a sincere unnervous smile which made her smile back as well.
“I see…” she said, happy for him “Isn’t it risky to talk about your future with anyone from this age?” she asked again.
“No, because I’m not talking about things that didn’t happen yet. I know, time travel stuff, pretty complicated…” he said rubbing the back of his head.
“Heh… I guess so…” she said giggling, she had never felt so good with anyone aside from Tangle and Jewel yet Silver was proving to be a lovely person to be around as well.

The appetizers came and they snacked on them, soothing their hunger for a bit, then they resumed their chat.
“You can… ask me whatever you want, Silver…” she said, laying her chin on her entwined hands.
“Really? I thought…” he said, well knowing that she usually avoided talking about herself or her past.
“I give you my permission… You opened up to me, so… I want to open up to you…” she said, a bit flustered.
“Uhm…” he thought, he wanted to ask her about her past but he would prefer to avoid talking about what happened to the Diamond Cutters “Do… You still have parents?” he asked, that question may have sounded a bit weird but Whisper reacted normally.
“Yes… They both live out of South Island…” she said, then she raised a brow “And you…?” she asked him, making him wince.
“Uh… I… Really shouldn’t talk about them…” he stuttered. Back at her table Blaze sighed, he would never tell anyone about their parents, not even her.
“It’s fine… You can tell me… I can keep a secret, plus I’m not the talkative type…” said the wolf, the candor in her voice made him get up and go near her, whispering their names in her ear. She widened her eyes and looked at him.
“Really? Them?” she asked, surprised. Silver nodded and went back to his place.
“I trust you won’t say that to anyone” said Silver, not that he didn’t trust them but he had to be sure about it.
“Cross my heart and hope to die…” said Whisper, smiling and making a cross on her chest with her fingers. Blaze was impressed: he told her about his parents? She couldn’t help but feel a bit jealous about it… Soon, the first dish arrived, spaghetti with clams for Silver and meat ravioli for Whisper, when suddenly the waiter tripped and toppled Whisper’s plate on Silver’s face, making him hiss in pain as it was hot.
“Oh parbleu! Monsieur, I’m so sorry!” he gasped, proceeding to clean him up the best he could.
“Oh jeez, are you ok?” asked Whisper, worried that he might’ve been burned or worse. Some guests already started to snicker at that spectacle, and Silver had to bite his lip to prevent an outburst of rage.
“I’m… Fine…” he groaned.
“I’ll order the chef to make an extra plate for you, madame!” the waiter whined and left. Blaze facepalmed as the evening was not taking a nice turn for him, while Tangle had to fight her need to snicker at what just happened. Whisper got to him and made sure he was ok, before she went back to her place, noticing that the area next to them was wet for some reason which made her raise a brow…

Soon, the waiters brought a new dish for Whisper, who told them about the water puddle and had them clean them after they apologized one more time to Silver, but at this point the initial distress was long gone and he just made them leave as the two could finally eat in peace. Blaze and tangle sighed in relief and ate as well, also focusing on their own date rather than just spying on Silver and Whisper.
“Is it good?” asked Silver to Whisper as she gulped down one of the ravioli.
“Oh yes… Yours?” she asked, smiling.
“Mhm. Want some?” he asked, giggling a bit. She nodded and they tried each other’s plate, smiling and having a good time.
“Aw, I can’t even…” said Tangle, liking how cute they looked together.
“I agree” said Blaze smiling “Having them date was a very good call” she added, wagging her tail. Soon they finished the main course and had the plates taken away and, while they waited for the seconds, they resumed chatting.
“That was some misfortune…” said Whisper, talking about what happened before “Are you hurt?” she asked, concerned.
“Pft, me? Nah… In my age, before it was fixed, there was lava everywhere. THAT was real heat, this was nothing” he said, acting a bit smug, but seeing the concern in his date’s face he sighed “I’m fine, really. No need to worry” he said smiling and placing his hand on hers. Whisper blushed madly as he did that but couldn’t muster the strength to move her hand away, she actually liked when he did that and giggled nervously.
“Oh… Sorry, Do I…?” he started to ask, not wanting her to feel weird about it.
“N-no… Please…” she said placing her other hand on Silver’s. Silver saw that, smiled and did the same with his other hand, then they just looked at each other, both blushing as the candle lit up their faces. Blaze and Tangle awed as they saw that, both purring and wagging their tails as that incredibly adorable scene was happening. Silver gulped before he started to lean towards her, attempting to go for a kiss. Whisper blushed even more but leaned towards him too, ready to accept what he was offering…

“Here’s your seconds, messieurs” said the waiter, who brought them two juicy stakes. They gulped and went back to their places, mumbling a thanks and taking the plates. As the waiter left, they looked at each other and sighed as the mood was ruined by that so they focused on eating the large pieces of meat.
“Darn it… These waiters have the worst timing ever…” groaned Tangle as she was about to freak out if they kissed.
“Indeed” said Blaze, folding her arms and huffing as she was looking forward to it. Silver cut a piece of meat but, before putting it in his mouth, he saw that it was redder than usual. He touched the inside: it was cold. That steak was not cooked at all! He stopped Whisper and made her see it before she could eat it.
“You’re right” she said making a grimace
“Waiter!” Silver called one of the waiters passing by.
“Yes, sir?” he asked, bowing a bit.
“These two steaks are barely cooked!” he stated, making him see it.
“Oh my, you’re right. My apologies, I’ll have these changed in a jiffy” he said, taking the plates and going away. Whisper groaned since she was kinda hungry, and so was Silver, who huffed.
“I thought this place was a five star restaurant, yet the service is poor to say the least…” he commented, grunting “I’m deeply sorry, Whisper…” he said after, sighing.
“Don’t be. This is not your fault, Silver. Besides, aside from these accidents, I’m actually having fun here.” she said holding his hand and smiling, that made Silver giggle a bit.
“Say, you’re holding my hand without asking permission…” he joked a bit, which made her snicker and rub his palm.
“Maybe I don’t want to ask permission…” she joked back, giggling “You know, you’re quite the nice guy, Silver” she said after, making him wag his tail.
“R-Really?!” he asked, his heart about to explode in happiness.
“Yes. I was very scared before you came to pick me up but, so far, this date is going quite well, if you ask me…” she said, gently wagging her tail, then she felt a very nice smell of meat and turned her head as the waiter brought two very well done steaks, they had been cut before so they could see that, this time, they had been cooked properly.
“Apologies for the delay, messieurs. There you go” said the waiter giving the steaks to them.
“Mmm, it does smell nice!” said Silver, his mouth watering a bit as he was very hungry. Whisper nodded and cut a piece, putting it in her mouth.

“MMM!” She cooed as the meat was very good, tender and flavoured just the way she liked. Silver smiled and tried a piece, when suddenly his mouth was struck with an intense spiciness which he could not handle at all. He gasped and gulped down the glass of water he had, panting as that only temporarily doused the burning feeling in his mouth.
“Oh, one thing. I was told that the chef did add extra Cayenne pepper to give the steak more… Flavour…” said one of the waiters, seeing Silver cough and hold his throat “Uh, sir? Are you alright?” he asked, raising a brow.
“Silver?” asked Whisper, tilting her head. He couldn’t talk due to how much his throat was burning but made the waiter understand that he needs some milk to quench the ache. He nodded and rushed to the kitchen while Whisper poured him more water. As she did though, she dropped her fork and in picking it up saw a weird dark purple triangular thing next to the table. She picked it up and sniffed it, gasping soon after.
(This is… No… It can’t be…) she thought, but then she shook her head (Easy, Whisper… It’s impossible… Must be a piece of something another client ordered…) she thought, tossing it away and getting back up. Blaze groaned, Silver had always been very sensitive to spicy stuff and couldn’t digest it very well.
“Man, that’s unfortunate… Why is everything happening to him?” asked Tangle, sighing as she felt bad for him. The waiter brought him a glass of cold milk and Silver downed it, groaning as he felt better.
“My deepest apologies. I’ll bring you something else, sir” said the waiter, taking away his plate and going back to the kitchen.  Whisper whimpered a bit, she was feeling bad about this string of bad luck surrounding him and he could tell that he was not happy about it. He just wanted to enjoy a simple date, yet he was being made a fool in front of her. She placed down the fork and got to him, gently massaging his shoulders to make him feel better.
“Huh? B-but…” he stuttered as she did that.
“It’s a bit too hot for me. I can wait for it to get a bit colder.” she replied smiling as she wanted to soothe him a bit. Silver sighed and let her massage him, most of the clientele awed at that selfless gesture including Tangle and Blaze. After a while she stopped and went back to her seat, eating the steak.
“I hope you don’t mind if I finish it…” she said, still feeling sad about him.
“No, no, it’s fine. You shouldn’t starve because of me…” he said, much of his confidence had been shattered by these unfortunate events.

The rest of the dinner didn’t proceed well: they brought Silver an hamburger with way too much ketchup and, as he took a bite, he accidentally sprayed it all over himself, a waiter stomped his foot as he went to the bathroom to clean himself, another spilled champagne all over him and, as he went to sit down again, the chair broke under him and made him fall down. But the worst came when they brought the dessert, a chocolate cake with a can of whipped cream next to it. As Silver went to spray some of it, he didn’t realize that it wasn’t pointing towards the cake and, as he sprayed it, he actually sprayed it on Whisper, staining her dress. Him, Tangle and Blaze gasped as that happened and Whisper stared at her dress, who she bought exclusively for the evening, then back at Silver. She silently got up and ran to the bathroom, slamming the door as she went in. Silver groaned and bumped his head on the table, this evening couldn’t have gotten worse! After a bit she got out of the bathroom, her dress cleaned as she went towards him with an imperious face. Silver gulped as that face was not a good sign.
“Uh… I’m… Sorry…?” he whimpered, shivering.
“I thought I’ve had worse times, but this far exceeded anything I’ve been through. This date is done. I don’t know what came over me by accepting to go out with such a whining, pathetic loser… Go back to your own time, you weed-headed doofus!” she exploded before leaving. Tangle and Blaze stared at her leaving, then at Silver, not believing what just happened and that Whisper could lash out like that. Silver shivered, copious tears started to form on his face as he got up and ran out, bursting in a broken cry. Blaze and Tangle got up and went after him, but he was far away and into the downpour to be reached. They groaned as this whole thing had been their idea so they felt extremely guilty about this.
“Uh, what are you two doing here?” asked Whisper as she appeared from behind them.
“How could you?!” Tangle growled and had to be contained by Blaze “He did nothing wrong yet you lashed at him like that!! I can’t believe you could’ve been so… so cruel!” she yelled.
“Yeah! I mean, sure Silver got a bit unlucky but you had no right to lash out like that! That was not social awkwardness at its worst, you literally spewed poison in his face!” Blaze hissed too, she could not forgive her for what she did.

“Wait… What are you talking about? What did I say to Silver? I just came out of the bathroom…” she said, raising a brow.
“Oh, come on! It’s not like there can be two Whispers, right?” said Tangle folding her arms and rolling her eyes, making the wolf gasp “I never thought you could be so mean!” she said, disappointed in her.
“Wait, wait… Say it again?” asked Whisper.
“What, that you’re mean?” asked Tangle, raising a brow.
“No, before that…” said the wolf.
“Uh… Baba, me pooped on the floor?” said Tangle, blinking.
“Too far, fast forward…” said Whisper sighing.
“That… There can’t be two Whispers?” said the lemur, tilting her head. At that Whisper growled and gritted his teeth.
“Where did he go?” she asked Blaze.
“Why should I tell you?” asked the cat, grunting.
“Because our date’s being sabotaged as we speak!” said the wolf.
“Huh?” asked Blaze, blinking.
“I don’t have time to explain! Just, please tell me where he went!” Whisper shrieked and widened his eyes, a proof that she was being serious.
“...That way…” she said, pointing at a small forest to the west. Whisper thanked her and ran towards the forest, throwing away the heels to run faster. The two girls looked at her until she vanished in the foliage.
“Weird… The last time she acted like that was when… Oh Chaos…” Tangle gasped as she realized what she meant “Of course! It was him all along!” she said facepalming and running after her.
“Wait, who are you talking about?!” Blaze yelled and ran after her as well, vanishing in the forest as the downpour kept going on. Silver had sat under a tree to cry his heart out, he couldn’t believe how bad his date went and at how mean Whisper had been to him. He hugged his knees and sobbed within them, not noticing the feminine figure getting closer to him while wielding a knife. Then, a lightning made him look up just in time to see Whisper dash at him while trying to stab him. He gasped and flew up, dodging the attack and landing on a branch.

“What the?!” he yelped as he looked down at her.
DIE!!” she yelled and climbed the tree insanely fast, soon getting to him and getting up on the branch, smirking and twirling the knife.
“Weren’t you just happy to diss me like that? Now this? I got it, it was a horrible date but…” he started saying, interrupted by her laughing loud, throwing her head back and curving her back a bit before she looked at him again.
“The date? Really? How stupid can you be?” she asked grinning.
“According to you, a lot…” he whined, he was still sore about it.
“Ooh, boo, woo… The big bad bitchy wolf called me a doofus… I’m just gonna cry my heart out because nobody likes me… You’re disgusting… You never had a chance with me!” she said, mocking him before launching at him. He gasped and dodged her flurry of stabs, not using his powers because he didn’t want to hurt her, but she clearly looked like she wanted to end him. Suddenly, a purple beam was shot between them, making them both look down and seeing… another Whisper pointing at them? The Whisper on the tree staggered as she saw her.
“Oh shit…” she gulped and tried to run away, but the Whisper down below shot a charged beam at the branch making it snap in two and causing Silver and the other Whisper to fall down, but Silver instinctively took flight and created a bubble around Whisper, gently landing but keeping her in the bubble for her safety.
“W-what is going on?” he asked, looking at both wolves and being confused.
“Silver! That’s not me! It’s Mimic!” yelled the Whisper pointing the gun at them.
“D-don’t believe t-that creep! She’s Mimic! I-I’m the real Whisper!” said the one in the bubble, groaning and bumping on the cyan walls. Silver looked at both of them again, being extremely confused about who to believe in, then it clicked! He hid a hand behind his back and walked forward.
“I-If any of you is the real Whisper, then tell me… What you said before… Was it true?” he asked, lowering his ears as his hair was being pushed down by the hard rain.
“W-well, duh! I’ve n-never spent a w-worse night in my e-entire life!” said the one in the bubble.
“Silver… I never said anything to you… It’s true, I was sad because my dress was ruined, but with some water it got away… Plus, I would’ve never given the fault to you… It was all his work…” said the wolf in front of them, lowering her ears and pointing the gun at the bubbòed wolf.

“D-Don’t believe him! I-I said the truth!” said Bubble Whisper.
“If you did, “Whisper”...” he said turning to her and showing that he had activated a lie detector on his cuff “...Then my tech must malfunction, because it clearly reacted to your sentence, and not hers…” he added, pointing at the gun-wielding wolf. The one in the bubble growled and turned into the waiters who humiliated Silver, then in the maitre, and finally into Mimic again.
“You cheated, damn kid…” he grunted, punching the wall.
“You first! You’ve been sabotaging my date! Why on Earth did you do that?!” Silver grunted and clenched his fist, reducing significantly the size of the bubble until Mimic was now taking a ball form, luckily he was an invertebrate so he didn’t have problems with it although he couldn’t move anymore.
“Why do you think? She had me arrested! She ruined my life and my career as a mercenary! An eye for an eye, kid. If I can’t have a happy life, then she cannot either!” he hissed, gritting his teeth “But how the hell did you figured out, Whisper?!” he then asked her.
“I wasn’t sure at first, but then when Tangle said that there couldn’t have been two Whispers, I placed it all together. The waiter who spilled the ravioli on Silver slipped on water, only someone who came from outside could leave such a puddle. And as far as I can remember, you can change clothes but not how wet your skin is” she said, gritting her teeth “Then it was this” she said, showing him the purple thing “It’s one of your scales. Something clicked when I smelled it. I’d recognize your treacherous stench from a mile and with my nose clogged.” she hissed.
“Well, bravo Scooby. Want a snack?” commented Mimic sarcastically “You’re more like a hound than a wolf…” he snickered, grinning maliciously.
“Silver, why don’t you take that creep out of that ball? I’ll teach him to not mess with me…” she growled, making Mimic gasp and writhe in the tight psychic sphere.
N-NO! D-DON’T DO IT! S-SHE’D KILL ME!” he yelped to Silver, who raised a hand.
“Sorry Whisper, that’s not your call…” he said, allowing his head to slither out.
“H-heh, good b...MRNFGH!!” he groaned in pain as Silver literally dug his fist in his face, making Whisper smirk and put back her weapon.
“Right… Silver, I’ll leave him to you… Make sure to do a fine job…” she said going back. Silver grinned in anger and pulled Mimic out of the ball before he started to beat the crap out of him, his screams of pain made Whisper smile as she found Tangle and Blaze.

“Are you ok?” asked Tangle, then she heard the pained yells of the mimicking mercenary “Heh, I guess he isn’t… So it was really him? I bet he was listening to our phone calls. What a creep…” said the lemur, grinning.
“This coming from you?” asked Whisper, folding her arms.
“Uh, yeah… S-sorry if we were spying on you two…” she giggled nervously before being pulled in a hug from the wolf.
“It’s ok… Without you, we’d be in trouble...” said the wolf, cooing and wagging her tail.
“H-Heh, so we're good?” asked the lemur.
“Yes…” said Whisper, moving away “But don’t ever spy on my future dates anymore…” she added, grunting a bit.
“I can’t promise it…” said Tangle, raising her hands and giggling mischievously.
“I’ll make sure of it, Whisper… Sorry for doubting you” said Blaze, shaking hands with her.
“It’s not your fault… That Mimic wanted to ruin my date for revenge but he’s getting what he deserved… Silver’s been very cool, actually…” Whisper cooed, wagging her tail, then she saw Silver coming back, he had Mimic inside a psychic-made restrain device and the squid looked pretty beaten down.
“Huff… Man, it was fun! I couldn’t stop punching this scumbag. He said he’ll behave from now on, right scumbag?” he asked Mimic, who weakly nodded. “Can any of you fine ladies call the police so they can throw him back in the hole he escaped?” Silver asked, Blaze nodded and called the police while the future hedgehog made him wear power-dampening cuffs that not even he could slither out of and chained him to a very robust tree. It was then that Whisper pulled Silver in a hug, sighing as she held on him. Silver gulped but soon returned the hug, wagging his tail and cooing a bit. Tangle called Blaze’s attention, giggling as they did that. Soon Silver looked at her in the eyes and moved away a strand of hair she had on her face.

“Not that I don’t like hugs but… What was it for?” he asked, smiling.
“I’m sorry that our date went south… I was looking forward to doing this, yet this sleazeball managed to ruin everything…” she sighed and hid her face in his chest hair.
“I’m… Too modest to boast…” Mimic whined.
“Shut up if you don't wanna know where I'm shoving the next punch in...” Silver growled, making the octopus wince and stay quiet.
“Wow, now he’s scared of you too…” said Whisper smiling.
“Heh, maybe because I beat him hard enough… MMBB?!” his sentence was cut as Whisper kissed him on the lips, wagging her tail and hugging him tighter and closer to her. Silver widened his eyes as she kissed him but soon he closed his eyes and hugged her more, kissing her back and wagging his tail as well.
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!” both Blaze and Tangle shrieked in happiness as they kissed in the rain, it felt extremely romantic for them.
“Ugh, get a room…” Mimic grunted. Silver pulled away a bit and smiled.
“For once, he’s right…” he said, forming a sphere around himself and Whisper to shelter them from the rain and made it so that they could see outside but who was outside could not see inside and that pleased Whisper a lot “That’ll give us some privacy… Sooooo, where were we?” asked Silver, before kissing her again, making her giggle and coo as they kissed once more.
“Hey! That’s not fair! I wanna see!!” Tangle groaned and bumped on the bubble but Blaze pulled her away, sighing.
“Let’s give them some privacy and take shelter ourselves…” she said, carrying Tangle and Mimic away while Silver and Whisper kept kissing. After a while, the rain stopped and the police arrived to take Mimic under custody again.
“The cuffs he has block his powers of shapeshifting. I suggest you NEVER take those off…” Blaze said to the cops.
“You got it, miss. C’mon, viscid thing, get in…” said the policeman, pushing Mimic inside and driving away with him. As the cars left, Silver and Whisper came out of the forest, both had a dopey grin on their face and Silver had taken off his jacket so that Whisper could wear it since it was chilly outside. The owner got to them, panting.
“I was informed of the whole thing. I’m deeply sorry that you have suffered this. To make amends, I’ll offer you a free dinner anytime you want” he said sighing.
“Thanks, but not today. Right now, we just wanna go home…” said Blaze stretching and yawning. The owner nodded and wished them goodnight before going back inside. Blaze opened a portal that led back to Tangle’s house and they went in, finding themselves back on the couch.

“What an insane night…” said Tangle sighing and going upstairs to remove her drenched dress, followed by Blaze. Silver sighed and looked at Whisper.
“Are you… not going with them?” he asked, raising a brow.
“In a moment… I just… I want you to know that…” she stuttered, blushing when Silver raised her chin and smiled.
“I know… I feel the same way…” he said kissing her nose and making her giggle.
“Good… So… Next week?” she asked smiling.
“Hm?” he asked, raising a brow.
“Our next date… Can it be next week?” she asked again, laying her head on his shoulder.
“Oh… Yes! Only one thing… Can it not be at a restaurant?” he asked, rubbing an arm. She snickered then laughed, only Tangle had ever made her laugh like this yet she was happy that someone else could make her laugh.
“Sure… We can just order some comfort food and watch a movie…” she proposed, wagging her wet tail.
“Sounds like a good idea to me!” he said smiling and nuzzling with her “Well, I better get going. Good night, Whisper” he said getting up.
“Wait!” she said getting up and placing her hands on his shoulders.
“Yes?” he asks, looking at her, then she kisses him deeply, dragging him back on the couch and laying on top of him as she kissed his lips. He purred and willingly let her kiss him, hugging her closer and rubbing her back a bit, then she pulled away and giggled.
“You forgot this…” she cooed and got off of him “Goodnight… Silver…” she said, wagging her tail as she went upstairs. He touched his lips as he went out, then a wide smile formed on his face as he bursted in the now clear night sky.
YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!! BEST. NIGHT. EVER!!!” he yelled in happiness, then he looked down at Tangle’s house, smiled and flew back home after what was  his first, worst and best date ever all at the same time.
