I had two ideas of the same joke, and decide to just do both because sometimes I just get really pissed off.
I like to work with something like a stream with several people talking about stuff like movie productions or comic books or just nerd stuff, but get a little annoyed by constantly being told that cute girls in comics are bad because, "reasons".
I use to watch Linkara a lot because at a time he was entertaining, a bit annoying for the said "cute girls equal sexism" vibe I get out of him but it was something to put on that drones on as I draw stuff.... Up until recently when he did the review of one of my favorite retro shows Emergency and the political.. No, it's not political, it's faslitic, or fashionable politics where one wears the cause on their sleeves and seemingly going all in but it feels very hollow, like wearing a shirt from a 5K marathon you buy from a second hand shop.
Plus his comic book knowledge seems so, vapid, and shallow. I'm trying not to be a comic book guy, it just bugs me and I don't know why.
Strange Brain Parts is far better, I suggest his coverage of Baker Street and overview of Grendel. He also introduced me to DC's Wasteland.
The other comic is about 80's/90's Hollywood animators treating anime like shit, I was trying to watch this course on youtube but could not make it too far because of how he kept bad mouthing anime. It was like they experience Twinkle Nora rock me and never went back to learn about, well, anything else, ever. It's like saying all video games are Capstone games after playing Tekwar.
Plus I notice after a while what was being taught was great for character moments, like being sad or being depressed or showing anger, it does not work for things like action like fist fights, or hugging, or sex, or anything other than facial expressions.
Watch Aaron Blaise instead, he's very positive and informative.
In the end if I need to focus and need to block out noise from the other room I usually just wind up putting on MSTK3 or Civvie11.
(The alternative title was: "So how'd I do?")
