Character Sheet for Izabel Azevedo
Character Description
Izabel can be depicted in two settings: her original "shamanistic" guardian of nature in a rainforest with magic in the world, or, for cases where I plan to use her in a more realistic world with other characters, a contemporary version where she's part of an environmentalism NGO in a small city.
Izabel is a 24-year-old woman with a bright, physically expressive presence and an instinctive closeness to forests, water, and living things. In every version of her, she has freely embraced a family legacy of protecting nature rather than being forced into it. She is a young guardian/conservation worker still learning how much responsibility she can carry, but her dedication is unmistakable. Her defining contrast is that she can be bubbly, silly, openly emotional, and gloriously unfiltered one minute, then calm, observant, and remarkably composed when a ritual, a project, or an ecosystem truly needs her. She wants to honor inherited wisdom while moving it forward: with inclusive values, practical curiosity, and whatever new tools or knowledge can help.
Personality
Izabel approaches life with affectionate curiosity. She is quick to grin, joke, flirt, or become visibly excited by a new possibility, and she likes making awkward moments easier through humor. She is social and warm in big groups, but prefers smaller circles where everyone gets attention. Furthermore, she leads confidently in subjects she understands well, mostly through energy and example. She has little patience for coercing people who do not want to cooperate. Failure makes her unusually quiet, pouty, and self-critical when she thinks she could have prepared better, though rest, reassurance, and a hug usually help her recover. Fear brings out obvious, nervous jokes rather than denial. She forgives sincere mistakes easily, but deliberate cruelty, exploitation, or contempt for living things can make her blunt, stubborn, and openly angry.

Izabel loves forests, rain, warmth, breeze on her skin, swimming, climbing, bouldering, running, wildlife watching, fruits, as well as juice and fruity cocktails. In modern settings, she enjoys action films, cartoons, books, and environmental games or shows. Also casual movie nights, ice cream, pool days, picnics, environmental protests, community clean-ups, and close friends who share her values. She likes light clothing, bare feet, pretty dresses on special occasions, playful flirting, and seeing a newly planted area thrive.
Dislikes
She dislikes wastefulness, pollution, cruelty, needless habitat destruction, corporate greed, compromised officials, stuffy suits, preparatory bureaucracy, and people dismissing others’ work. While she does take her time for useful documentation and slow, meaningful rituals, she is impatient when things are slow and overly complicated without obvious gain from it. She dislikes dishonesty and "always have it done this way" traditions.

Shared base
Izabel grew up surrounded by the idea that caring for nature is an everyday responsibility. Her mother and grandmother never forced their "family traditions" path on her, but happily saw her choose it for herself and are proud of the person she is becoming. She respects what they taught her, but wants to carry it forward with more inclusive values and practical new knowledge.
Magical world
Izabel was born and raised in the rainforest she now helps protect. She is the next generation in a line of forest guardians, responsible for the wider rainforest of her continent and the communities living within it. Her days are flexible: she explores, learns, watches for imbalance, helps with rescues and unusual illnesses, and assists communities with welcome and return-to-nature rites around births and deaths. She does not interfere with ordinary predator-prey cycles, however painful they can be to watch. Receiving her own staff from her mother was a joyful rite of passage, her early attempts at guiding vines were full of badly timed swings, tumbles, laughter, and determination to improve.
Contemporary world
Born and raised in the city where she now lives, Izabel was drawn early to biology, environmentalism, and her grandmother Celeste’s stories about the rainforest country she had left as a young adult. Around seventeen or eighteen, she made her first trip there through a family-linked NGO learning opportunity. The unfamiliar humidity, vast trees, and sheer amount of new life overwhelmed and fascinated her, turning inherited stories into a personal calling. She studied biology and environmental topics, completed NGO-supported wildlife training, and became an Ecosystem Restoration Field Officer for an international environmentalism organization. Her main work is hands-on restoration, although she has learned enough research, monitoring, and coordination to support varied teams. She usually travels for a week every few months, with occasional assignments lasting two or three months. She enjoys documenting results but hates permits, bookings, and legal preparation and gets furious when corporations or compromised governments obstruct conservation.
Relatives/Family
Izabel’s mother, Marisa (47), and grandmother, Celeste (68), are affectionate mentors who are proud because Izabel chose their values rather than feeling forced by inheritance. In both versions, Marisa and Celeste live together while Izabel keeps her own nearby home: a separate forest hut roughly ten minutes away in the magical world, or a rented apartment in the same city in the contemporary one.
Marisa is the practical organizer, an experienced guardian and ritual teacher in fantasy, or an NGO planner who remembers flights, documents, vaccinations, and contacts in the modern world. Celeste carries memory and perspective. In the contemporary version, she left her home country at 26 with five-year-old Marisa and is now retired, though still active in neighborhood clean-ups, planting projects, and community events. Both women offer guidance without treating Izabel as incapable.
Body
Izabel's body is covered in warm tan scales, with a lighter throat, chest, and belly. Despite being based on a lizard species, she's mammalian, including breasts, navel, and homothermy. She has a lean, naturally athletic build: slender arms and legs, a soft but firm belly, a shapely chest, and rounded hips and backside that stand out appealingly against her otherwise slim frame, along with a thick, flexible tail.
She is not visibly muscular or hard to the touch, but regular climbing, running, swimming, jumping, physical work, and, in her fantasy-version, vine swinging give her strength and dexterity beneath her soft scaled surface. Her hair is worn in red dreadlocks. She has large ears and two long, slender, horn-like head appendages that are soft, flexible, lightly springy, and fully sensitive to touch. Purple lips, a few purple facial spots, and subtly purple claws are natural coloration. The white cheek lines and dots down her face are ritual paint, worn most of the time in the magical setting and for heritage or festival occasions in the contemporary one.
Clothing
Magical world
Izabel’s clothing changes with weather, activity, ritual, and local custom. She may wear little or nothing, especially in her forest, but also uses practical or ceremonial pieces made from woven plant fibers, broad leaves, vine wraps and lightweight natural textiles. Beads, seeds, flowers, wood, and other local materials may add color or meaning.
Contemporary world
In daily life and most office contexts, Izabel prefers clothes that leave her skin open to sun and wind: crop tops, sport bras worn as tops, shorts, swimwear, airy skirts, loose summer clothes, and light layers when needed. She generally goes barefoot because ordinary shoes do not fit her clawed feet well. For fieldwork she dresses sensibly: long sleeves and cargo trousers, sturdy protective footwear when required, insect and rain protection, work-secured hair, pockets, and a backpack. Breathable layers, a wide sun hat, neck cover, and water gear in hot, dry restoration areas. She dislikes formal suits but can enjoy a cute dress when the moment calls for it.
Accessories
Izabel sometimes threads small gold rings into her dreadlocks, although she may skip them after redoing her hair if she is feeling lazy. She wears a necklace set with yellow, cyan, and green stones, made by a rainforest community from the country or region tied to her family history. In the magical setting it is a familiar cultural piece from her own wider homeland. In the contemporary world, it connects her to Celeste’s home country and family stories. She treasures it, though it is not a hereditary relic.
In the magical world, she also carries the glowing purple wooden staff her mother gave her when she began her own guardian training. It is a ritual focus rather than a unique, irreplaceable artifact. Should it ever be destroyed, a new one could be prepared through proper rites. Still, losing this particular staff would hurt because of the memories attached to it.
A contemporary Izabel carries practical work equipment as needed: GPS, radio, phone, field gear and a weatherproof field notebook for observations, sketches, project notes, and personal memories.
