Bonus fun fact for those unaware: A character whose name is a reference to Count Orlok (the actual name of the character we all keep calling "Nosferatu") appears in Symphony of the Night, as a vampiric reptilian creature working under Dracula.

If I recall correctly, in order to kill Dracula, the hunters simultaneously exposed him to sunlight, put a stake in his heart, and cut off his head. They weren't taking any chances on missing a step.

Yep, prior to Nosferatu, all vampire lore stated that sunlight basically just made vampires easier to kill by sapping them of their energy and supernatural power. iirc, the decaptiation tactic also typically included first shoving garlic in the vampire's mouth, which is where the "vampires fearing/being allergic to garlic" trope comes from and why vampire hunters are often depicted carrying whole bulbs of it.
