8th of September. For most just another day, but for asturians it's our day.
We celebrate that day as the day of 'Our Lady of Covadonga' and also as the day Asturias fought to be officially an independent kingdom back in 722 AD.

We are not many and hell we are not even important in the grand scheme of things, but as one of the oldest recognized european entities it must be counted for something, right? 😄

So many people make pieces because they are happy for living where they are. Well, I do too, even with all the bad things (and believe me, there are TONS) I think that living surrounded by rolling hills, mountains and forests isn't all that bad. Our traditional foods and holidays are also pretty neat, and as one of the few peoples of celtic descent we need to fight to keep them alive. We already lost our original celtic language, so we need to keep the rest of our culture alive!

Sorry for the long text, but I thought this needed something more elaborate than "I hope you like it!"... That said, I hope you like it!
