Hello everyone! I've been too quiet for too long, so I'm back and ready to get involved with the IB community again. And for that, I come with a special project - and raffle prizes for those who get involved! :D
You've obviously all heard of the Girl Scouts before, with their uniforms and door-to-door cookies that make for some cute cub pictures. Well, I present to you a pair of fictional versions I designed: the Juniper Scouts, and the Tideway Girls. The two often compete against each other in sports games and fundraising events, especially bake sales. While parents and staff are typically friendly and encouraging to the opposing group, rivalry between the kids themselves can get awfully fierce!

The Juniper Scouts wear a red-orange and white uniform for easy visibility in the woods. They started out making gin for soldiers during wartime, teaching the girls survival and self-defense skills on the side. Tend to sell their own sodas, lemonade, and cider nowadays (including some alcoholic versions), and their classic gin is still in production. Members are divided by age categories, from Berry Scout (ages 4-7) to Senior (16+). Mammal-only enrollment restrictions persisted until the early 2000's, before finally getting a change in management and more inclusive policies. Still firmly girls-only, but some feminine boys have slipped through with false forms; new Scouts don't get 'checked' at recruitment, but the communal showers and changing areas in their camps would make it a tricky charade to maintain.
The Juniper Scouts uniform consists of: white button-up shirt with long sleeves and orange-red cuffs, purple ascot, orange-red open vest (where the badges are pinned), red plaid skirt, orange-red soft cap with white brim and the Juniper emblem.

Tideway Girls wear a blue uniform with a white sash. They grew from a kids' first-aid program, which was a combined attempt to get more girls into nursing/medical schools, and to use them as volunteers to collect much-needed blood donations. Outdoor and survival skills were added later on using the Juniper Scouts and similar organizations as a model, but they retain their medical roots, with their blood drives still going strong. They have a ranking system named for bodies of water, from Droplets to Seas; while you normally need to earn merit badges to progress through each rank, regardless of age, older or more experienced recruits can often show their existing skills and achievements to join as a higher rank. The highest-ranking member in a group can assign badges to lower-ranking members, in case no adults are around to make the judgement, but they're expected to do so fairly and honorably. While they're usually seen as a girls' organization (making up 90% of their members, and an even higher percentage of their staff), there aren't any real restrictions on who can join. Don't let the name fool you. ;)
The Tideway uniform includes: black short-sleeved shirt, aqua-blue waistcoat or swimsuit (often with the Tideway emblem over the heart), red ribbon with a fake jingle-bell (doesn't actually chime), white sash (for merit badges), blue skirt with belt or blue shorts, blue beret with the Tideway emblem.

Hopefully that gives you an idea of which group your little tots belong in. Enrollment is simple: just draw your character in one of the uniforms, doing scout-ish things. That's all it takes to join.
But if the idea of your cub in cute scout-like scenarios isn't enough incentive for you, there's also the P~R~I~Z~E~S. I'll be running 3 raffles for the rest of 2020, ending as soon as I wake up on January 1st.
The first 2 raffles will be for the separate groups - one for the Juniper Scouts, and the other for Tideway Girls. To enter those, all you have to do is get your character drawn in the appropriate uniform. It doesn't need to be the whole uniform, but should be enough of it to be recognizable. It can be drawn by somebody else, too; commissions and friends' drawings count.
The last raffle is for anyone who spreads the love to other participants. <3 To enter that one, you need to make a drawing or write a decently long-ish story that involves someone else's Juniper Scout or Tideway Girl. Your characters can be in it too, and commissions count just fine as long as you paid for someone else's scout to be included. Just needs that scout theme, and another person's character. I'll accept things with my own girls, but the intent here is more for you to be helping out other participants and sharing more joy amongst strangers you've never met. ^3^
The prize for each raffle will be a scout-themed 2-character drawing (you pick the exact scenario, but it can't violate the artist's ToS, nor can it have gore, scat, or diapers), with one of your characters and one of mine. I currently have
I have a few characters that would be...entertaining, to involve in this sort of thing. Gonna have to see what I can do...if I can either find the time, or money. <_< Even if a couple of those characters wouldn't involve themselves willingly.

XP Well, Cyrus is one I was thinking about for Juniper Scouts, technically a boy, but wrong equipment means he wouldn't be found out too easily, but he always tends to whine when people try and make him dress girly.
...and of course, Kiba if she were to join either one(probably Juniper Scouts) would find a way to drag Shiro in to it just for the fact it'd mean she would get to force him to cross-dress as often as there are meetings.(And make no mistake, she'd find a way to get the other girls, and the troops adults to 'ignore' Shiro's actual gender.)
And I have another boy that I haven't posted yet that would probably happily go for Tideway, and purposefully wear a skirt even if a shorts or pants option happens to be available. <_< I'm gonna have to decide on a priority order just in case...shall accept input on which seems most fun.

You should put this as a reply to my "Tideway Girls raffle!" comment, up above. You'll still be in the raffle even if you don't, but that'll help me keep things organized, and she'll be easier to find in case anyone else wants to draw Foxglove for the "drawing others' scouts" raffle. :3
Nice! ^3^ You should put this as a reply to my "Tideway Girls raffle!" comment, up above. You'll st
Oh, I have a question! Since the Tideway Girls allows anyone to join. I was wondering for the boys if they could substitute the skirt for shorts in an equal length or so? Or is it required for them too to wear the skirt?
I might not be able to take part in this, but I still think it is a lovely idea! And I will definitely love to participate if things line up x,D

Oh yeah, I should've mentioned that. >.< Shorts are totally an option for anyone in Tideway, even modest girls.
I want people to have fun with this, so I won't really be strict on the outfits as long as the basic look is there. Like if someone doesn't like the sash on their Tideway Girl, or they want the vest buttoned up on their Juniper Scout? No problem. ^3^

Yeah, I was trying to come up with differences for the ranks, but it took so much of my brain power just getting some nice basic outfits that I was kind of drawing a blank. -3-
That, and I wanted to keep it a bit loose anyway. Leaving some room for people to adjust their own versions a little. ^3^

Poking in with another lore question! Both organizations are described as having evolved a bit from their roots—any thoughts on how or whether the uniforms have changed (and over what length of time)? 😄
I'm puzzling over possible ways my boy might end up wearing one, and thinking maybe momma frog has her old Tideway outfit in the closet...

I can see from old photos of the RL Girl Scouts that they used to wear upturned sailor's caps, and knee-length shorts instead of skirts. But that was just over 100 years ago, so I'm not sure how much they'd change in the gap between Zac's childhood and Ava's.
I dunno... I'm not very good with outfits. >.> I can see from old photos of the RL Girl Scouts that
There we go. Edited the shorts into the description. It's like I never overlooked that at all! >.>
And hopefully 3 months is enough time to get Evelyn in on the action, but even if you miss out on the promotionary raffles, the Tideway Girls and Juniper Scouts will still be open for anyone who wants to join. *3*

Ah, that is good to know~ Honestly, I do adore this project a lot! So, it is good to hear it has some flexibility in terms of the uniforms, as long as the basic look remains uwu
Oh, the thing is that I had 2 other OCs in mind for the Tideway Girls >w>; it is just a question if they will be made in time for the contest or not ( If the master of frogs can create them in time or not >:3 ). Either way, contest or not, I would love to have them join in once they are created as I find the concept absolutely adoreable, from the outfit to what they do x,D

Hope it's not too late to participate! Scouting is my absolute favourite theme, and I just adore childish rivalry! I'll probably have to commission someone (i CAN draw, just not well enough to share it, mostly a writer) but it'd be fun. Of course even if the raffles are done I'd love to make a character in this 'setting'. Tideaway girls FTW, by the way >:3

The raffles end on New Year's day, so you've still got half of November and all of December to join in. And even if you don't make it in that time, you're always welcome to involve the groups in your stories. >:3
Glad you like them! ^3^ The raffles end on New Year's day, so you've still got half of November and
I adore this idea, honestly. Would love to join one of the raffles but I'm not comfortable sharing my sona in cub stuff publicly ..but I assume we're free to commission these ideas privately, and credit you for them? Would gladly share the results in Shouk's server too.

Even though the contest is over with, are the concept/uniform designs still 'open' for us to use? I'd naturally assume yes, but I'd still like to be sure. Also, did anyone submit any art/stories that feature the two in competition? Most of what I've found has been just one cub doing something lewd - still fun, but almost a shame to not see much of the rivalry angle.

Yeah, everyone's still more than welcome to use either group or their uniform. And like I told Zhet above, feel free to tweak the uniforms if something doesn't fit a certain character. I made the two groups to encourage community interaction and give some fun theming, so anything that gets inspired from them is coooool by me. ^3^
Sadly, the whole thing didn't quite take off enough to get any rivalry pieces yet. But I haven't abandoned the project, and I intend to do more raffles like this in the future.

Shame there's not been any rivalry pieces so far, but glad it's only 'so far' at least! Always awesome to see someone do fun community events like this, let alone when the theme is something i happen to be into, lmao
Shame there's not been any rivalry pieces so far, but glad it's only 'so far' at least! Always aweso
Sadly, we're a little short on pictures that actually show the rivalry, but hopefully that'll change pretty soon. I'm hoping to run another raffle or something before the end of the year if I can afford it, to keep these groups growing.
Thanks! Glad to have Hannah join in. Sadly, we're a little short on pictures that actually show the
