These are Joey's parents and Elise's aunt and uncle, Jasmine and Alan. Alan had a previous marriage with another otter that unfortunately ended in divorce within only a few weeks. Luckily he met Jasmine not too long afterward, and after a year's worth of courtship the two married happily and even bore their son Joey not long afterward. They both work at home writing novels so they can keep a close eye on their boy. Both also love their niece Elise very much.
