Did I change my fursona? No, don't worry, I'm still a red fox. This model was made by my buddy Rezillo, who got me into Neos. I originally used the fox model that you're likely familiar with, but when that broke after an update, I decided that I may as well start back from scratch. So the intermediate solution was an Avali, as I had wanted to make an Avali already, which is the black and yellow guy. Though I didn't really want to make him just another personality insert. I wanted to try and give him some traits so he wasn't a 1D character like all the other designs I currently have in storage.
I'm still not comfortable at all with making characters, as all my practice has been geared toward hard surface modelling (inanimate objects). I don't often go for trending furry species, but the Rexouium quickly grew on me the more I saw them in NeosVR.
Yes...I know...those look like Fennec ears. But as much as I poke at my Fennec friends for being fake foxes, I don't mind them all that much. Sure, I'd still prefer a Red Fox, but having this little gag of a feud seemed like an amusing idea. The Rexouium aren't specifically Fennecs, though. They're a bit on the level of dragons with their "mythical beast" status, though Rexouiums were created by the modeller, Rezillo.
Either way, this fills the need for a more familiar feel of fluff than the Avali. No offense to them, I still love them to bits, but from time to time I like to shake things up with something interesting. Plus I want to yip yap without feeling out of character again. XD
