During early testing the pathogen which carried the still experimental gene treatment as released. The treatment perfected DNA self repair mechanisms and to avoid overpopulation slowed maturation process. At least that was it's intent. The Treatment proved partially successful. Individuals stopped aging. Then reversed. By the end of the crisis every individual planet wide was regressed to cubhood. These first furs turned cub are refereed to as First Generation.
