---The Next Morning---
Leonidas cracked his eyes open and noticed that Rachelle was on his chest. Rachelle opened her eyes and looked to her father. Leonidas then placed a kiss on Rachelle’s cheek. Rachelle blushed and reached up to her father. Leonidas took Rachelle in his arms and took her PJ’s off and put on her clothes. Rachelle loved her clothes and was always comfy in her clothes. Leonidas placed Rachelle down on the bed and changed his clothes; he changed into his black tank-top and his new silver shorts. Rachelle smiled to her father and was ready to go see her grandmother. Leonidas then scooped Rachelle up in his arms and went to his mother’s room.
Arriving at his mother’s room, Leonidas knocked on his mother’s door and he heard her say, “Come in, my son.” At that Leonidas walked in and wrapped his free arm around his mother. Cynthia hugged Leonidas back and was very proud of her son and then said, “All you have to do is win one last match, and you’re the new Fire Guardian.” “I know mother, I know.” Leonidas said with a smile. Cynthia then took Rachelle in her arms and placed a kiss on Rachelle’s forehead. Rachelle giggled and placed one of her little hands on her grandmother’s chest. Leonidas placed a kiss on his mother’s cheek. Cynthia returned the kiss and placed Rachelle on her bed. Leonidas then left the room closing the door behind him.
Leonidas then arrived at the Arena and heard that he was facing Ember in the finals for the title of Fire Guardian. Leonidas then walked up to a good spot where he could see what was going on and noticed that all the other Dragons and Dragonesses that entered the tournament were being honored in their efforts of attempting the tournament. Ember then came up next to Leonidas rested her hand on his. Leonidas looked to Ember and removed his hand out from underneath Ember’s hand. Ember walked back into the hall way. Leonidas followed Ember closely and said, “May the best Dragon or Dragoness win Ember.” “Same to you Leonidas.” Ember said shaking hands with Leonidas. Wilmfe walked up next to Ember and gave her a hug and said, “Good luck, to both of you.” “Thanks, I really appreciate it.” Leonidas and Ember said in unison. Wilmfe then gave Leonidas a hug. Leonidas hugged Wilmfe back with a smile. Ember gave Leonidas a hug as well. Wilmfe released from the hug and went back to her spot to watch. Leonidas and Ember hugged each other felt very comfortable around each other. After honoring all other participants of the tournament, it had all come down to this as the audience heard the announcer say, “This is the final match of the tournament, where the winner of this match will be declared your NEW FIRE GUARDIAN!!!!!” The crowd cheered, it was split half and half, one half cheering for Ember, the other half cheering for Leonidas. As the gates opened Leonidas and Ember walked out into the sandy field, and when they stopped, it was quiet in the arena, so quiet that you could hear a pin hit the floor. When Leonidas heard the announcer say, “Let the final match BEGIN!!!!!” Ember then charged at Leonidas. Leonidas wasn’t surprised that’s exactly what he wanted to happen, so Leonidas slammed his hands into the ground and then a familiar ball of energy formed at his mouth and it didn’t take too long before the ball of energy turned into a beam and hit Ember right in her stomach. Ember flew back against the wall hard and she felt all her energy being drained out of her by this beam but could hardly describe what it felt like. Leonidas finally stopped blasting his unknown beam at Ember and looked to see that she was knocked out in the sand against the shade of the wall. The announcer then said, “Here is your winner and the NEW FIRE GUARDIAN, LEONIDAS THE DRAGON!!!!!!!!!!!!!” The crowd then started cheering wildly. Leonidas walked over to Ember and examined her and made sure that nothing was broken and nothing was rearranged. Ember opened her eyes and looked to Leonidas. Leonidas then smiled and reached his hand out to Ember. Ember smiled as well and then took Leonidas’ hand as Ember was helped to her feet by Leonidas. “Awesome job in the tournament, Leonidas.” Ember said. “Thanks, same to you Ember.” Leonidas said with a smile. Ember wrapped her arm around Leonidas’ neck and walked with Leonidas over to the gates.
Arriving at the gate, Wilmfe was the first one there for Ember and she asked Leonidas, “Is she gonna be alright?” Leonidas the smirked and said, “She’ll be fine after a good night’s sleep.” Wilmfe then took Ember into the stands and said, “You did good sweetie, but apparently, Leonidas turned out to be the strongest of the tournament.” “I know mom, I know.” Ember said with a smile. Wilmfe and Ember looked to each other and gave each other a hug, and after they looked back down to the field.
Leonidas was standing alone in the center of the arena and was accepting the glorious moment that he had, he heard the announcer say, “And here come the Guardians to welcome the newest Fire Guardian.” Everyone in the audience turned their attention to the Guardians. When Leonidas looked to the Guardians to see that, his father, Terrador was approaching him. The Guardians then looked to Leonidas and formed a triangle around him, one corner being Ice, one corner being Electricity, and the last corner Earth, but in the middle…..FIRE. “Do you promise to protect all citizens of this city with your life?” Terrador asked very sternly. Leonidas looked around at the audience and saw all the faces there was to see and then knelt down with honor as he heard his father repeat, “Do you promise to protect all the citizens of this city with your life?” Leonidas then looked to Volteer, then to Cyril, then to Terrador, and said out of desperation, “I will protect everyone with my heart, and soul.” “Then let us be the first to congratulate you for your winnings in this tournament by having a victory party, tonight at 8:00, everyone is welcome.” Terrador said as the audience then cheered wildly.
Later that night at 7:30, Leonidas was getting ready for the victory party, the entire Dragon city has shown up, and even some others from some of the other Dragon cities. Leonidas even noticed that the Cheetah tribe had come to the victory part as well. Rachelle was sitting on her father’s bed and was looking both adorable and lovable. Leonidas then heard a knock on his door and the asked, “Who is it?” “It’s your mother.” Cynthia said. Leonidas walked over to his door and let his mother into his room. Cynthia was dressed in a lovely white dress; she thought that she should look very beautiful for when it was time to dance. “Wow, you look, very lovely mother.” Leonidas said a little bit shocked. “Aw, thank you my son, you don’t look too bad yourself.” Cynthia said with a smile. Leonidas was actually wearing his brand new Black Fire Guardian clothes. “Thank you, mother.” Leonidas said with a smile. Cynthia walked over to Leonidas’ bed and scooped up little Rachelle and said, “I see you know how to dress your daughter for special occasions, like this.” “Yeah, I know, but does dad really have to throw this party for me?” Leonidas asked a bit curious. “Sweetheart, you know that your father is just throwing this party for you because he loves you and he wants you to feel welcome as the new Fire Guardian.” Cynthia said placing a kiss on Leonidas’ cheek. Leonidas returned the kiss and took his mother’s free hand in his own and said, “Well, we shouldn’t keep them waiting.” Cynthia looked to see what time it was and saw that it was only 7:45 and said, “You’ve still got 15 minutes until the party starts.” “I know mother, but I’d rather go look around and see whose all there.” Leonidas said. “Oh, alright, come on let’s go.” Cynthia said.
Leonidas walked with his mother down the halls until they came upon the main room of the temple and noticed that there was a lot more Dragonesses than Dragons. Cynthia looked around and was actually a bit surprised at what she saw. Leonidas then took Rachelle out of his mother’s arms and held onto her. Rachelle looked around a bit shyly. Leonidas placed a kiss on Rachelle’s forehead. Rachelle giggled and put one of her tiny hands on her father’s chest. Leonidas smiled and looked over to his father who was coming over to him and his mother and asked, “Are you ready my son?” “I was born ready for this father.” Leonidas said. Terrador smiled and said, “You can also walk around with Rachelle, but just be careful alright.” “Alright, I will.” Leonidas said with a smile. “Oh, Leonidas.” A familiar voice called. Leonidas looked around and he knew that it was Nightfire calling him, but he could find her so he asked, “Mother, would you mind holding Rachelle for a while?” “I don’t mind at all sweetheart.” Cynthia said taking Rachelle back in her arms. Leonidas started walking around for Nightfire. As Leonidas passed through the huge crowd of Dragons and Dragonesses he finally found Nightfire over by the front door. Leonidas then walked over to Nightfire and very surprised with what she was wearing. Nightfire was wearing a white dress that was actually very pretty on her. As Leonidas approached Nightfire he said, “Well, well, well, if it isn’t my one and only true love.” “Wow, it looks like someone has really got some power underneath all these muscles.” Nightfire said running one of her hands down Leonidas’ bicep. “Hmm, you were there during all my matches.” Leonidas said with a smile. “The reason I watched your matches is because, I knew you would win, every match that you stepped into.” Nightfire said. “I hope you’re ready to see some black fire tonight.” Leonidas said. “I don’t hope on seeing black fire tonight, I plan on seeing black fire tonight.” Nightfire said with a smile. As the clock struck 8:00 Leonidas and Nightfire wrapped their arms around each other. “Dragons and Dragonesses!!!” Everyone turned to Terrador. “Today is a day for the history books, because today will be known as the day we crown the new Black Fire Guardian!!!” The crowd then laughed at what Terrador said. “You don’t believe me, then I guess he’ll just have to prove it to you himself, Leonidas, show these Dragons and Dragonesses your true fire within.” Everyone turned to Leonidas and Nightfire. Leonidas and Nightfire looked around a bit shocked and Nightfire whispered to Leonidas, “You might wanna breathe your Black Fire before everyone thinks your father is a phony.” Leonidas took in some air and then after a few seconds he blasted a huge stream of black fire into the air above them. The crowd watched awestruck. The stream lasted for quite a few minutes until Leonidas finally closed his mouth and the Black Fire disappeared. “Excellent.” Terrador said to himself. “Do you really think your boy is worthy of this position Terrador?” Volteer asked. “Yes, I’m confident that he’s worthy of being the Fire Guardian.” Terrador said. “But he’s only a young adult; he wasn’t even trained in the ancient ways.” Cyril said. “Leonidas has his own fighting style, and he will be treated with respect.” Terrador finished the conversation. The music then started playing and the party was underway but the music was actually slow music. Leonidas looked to Nightfire and asked, “Well my dear Nightfire, my I have this dance?” “Yes, you may.” Nightfire said with a smile taking Leonidas’ hand. Leonidas walked with Nightfire out to where they could see everyone turned to each other. Leonidas wrapped his arms around Nightfire’s waist. Nightfire wrapped her arms around Leonidas’ neck. Leonidas and Nightfire then took it slow and then when they felt comfortable Nightfire pressed her head against Leonidas’ chest and closed her eyes. Leonidas smiled and closed his eyes and felt Nightfire’s dress pressing against his Guardian clothes and this was actually Leonidas and Nightfire’s very first slow dance. “I’m having a wonderful time so far, what about you?” Nightfire asked. “I am also having a wonderful time as well.” Leonidas said with a smile. “Good, your hands are very warm.” Nightfire complimented. “Thank you, your dress is actually very lovely.” Leonidas said complementing back. “Thanks, Leonidas, could I tell you something?” Nightfire asked. “I’m all ears.” Leonidas said. “I love you.” Nightfire said with passion. “What did you say?” Leonidas asked a bit curiously. “I said I love you, Leonidas.” Nightfire said. “I love you too, Nightfire.” Leonidas smiled and kissed Nightfire passionately. Nightfire kissed Leonidas passionately back. As they kissed they continued slow dancing and held each other very close. Terrador and Cynthia watched their son slow dance and kiss Nightfire and were both very proud of him. Rachelle, in Cynthia’s arms, looked up to her grandfather and reached for him. Terrador looked to Rachelle, and scooped her up in his arms. “Our son has really grown up.” Cynthia said with tears forming at her eyes. “Yes, he sure has.” Terrador said as he placed a kiss on Rachelle’s forehead. “Soon, he’ll be raising more kids and starting his own family with his mate.” Cynthia said with tears starting to go down her face. “Yes, but as long as he’s happy, we should be happy as well my dear.” Terrador said wiping Cynthia’s tear’s away. Cynthia pressed her forehead against Terrador’s forehead nearly crying. Terrador wrapped a wing around Cynthia and placed a kiss on her cheek and sat down his Earth chair and also made one for Cynthia so she could sit down and calm herself. Cynthia sat down and tried to pull herself together as she wiped her tears away. Leonidas and Nightfire stopped kissing and pressed their foreheads together and held each other very close together. “I love you.” Leonidas and Nightfire said to each other in unison.
After the party, Terrador Cynthia and The Guardian’s thanked everyone for coming. Leonidas and Nightfire were at the front door of the Main Temple in front of the starry sky being watched by The Guardian’s and Leonidas’ parents. “Well, I guess this is where I have to leave and head back to the camp.” Nightfire said with a sad tone. “I guess so, are you sure you can’t stay?” Leonidas asked really wanting Nightfire to stay. “I’m afraid I can’t, but unless the Guardians are willing to let me stay here.” Nightfire said looking over to the Guardians. “It’s quite alright with me.” Volteer said. “It’s alright with me as well too.” Cyril said. “As long as it is alright with you son, it’s alright with me.” Terrador said. Nightfire looked to Leonidas and asked, “So, is it alright?” “When you’re with me, it’s always alright to stay.” Leonidas said with a smile. Nightfire then smiled and hugged Leonidas and kissed his cheek. Leonidas hugged Nightfire back and swept Nightfire off of her feet and held her very close to himself. Nightfire and Leonidas held each other close together. Volteer and Cyril went to their dens. Terrador, Cynthia, Spyro, and Cynder all cleaned up the decorations and put out and black fire spots that they could find. Leonidas had Rachelle in his arms. Rachelle was glad that she finally had a mother. Leonidas then built a cradle for Rachelle to sleep in. Leonidas placed Rachelle in her cradle and took her clothes off and put her PJ’s on and then covered her with her blanket. Rachelle smiled and closed her eyes and fell asleep and felt very comfy in her new cradle. Leonidas placed a kiss on Rachelle’s forehead and went over and got his night clothing on and then crawled into bed. Nightfire placed a kiss on Rachelle’s forehead and got her night clothing on and then crawled into bed next to Leonidas. Leonidas and Nightfire kissed each other passionately and then layed their heads on their pillow and fell asleep.
