Hunter or Prey
The portal closed behind them and the amazing sight took them by surprise. The whole place looked like if they had entered Digiquartz. There was no sign of human life and several digimon were roaming the streets.
“T-this is not possible!” roared Tagiru “W-what happened? Looks like if Digiquartz took over the whole place” he turned at Kaji “What happened?!”
“Looks like our friend is trying to take over the place by… merging both worlds into Digiquartz” growled Kaji “Ok boys! We gotta split up in teams and try to look for others. I don’t think the hunters have been affected by this. The Xross Loaders should keep them safe.”
“That means our friends are still safe?” asked Taiki.
“I guess that’s correct” nodded Ryudramon looking around “Did you really told them to come here?”
“The team should get ready soon” said Kaji looking just like Ryudramon was doing “But we should go and look for other kids. For the look of this…”
“What? For the look of this what?” roared Gumdramon.
“We might as well need the help of our other partners” said Takato looking at the group “Look… I know this looks awful and that we, like Kaji said are the best in each generation… but we never did all by ourselves.”
“Takato is right” seconded Taichi “We need the help of the others.”
“Yeah! Bring them here!” said Agumon.
“The problem is that even I cannot create a portal to summon them at the time… they must be gathered like I did with you…” said Kaji noticing his mistake “WIZ grew stronger than what I thought. We need all the help” he took his D-Zero and entered a code”
“What was that for?” asked Daisuke.
“I’m calling my brothers and sisters” said Kaji and after speaking swiftly in another language with his siblings, he smiled “All done… but we gotta retain WIZ for as long as we can.”
“That sounds good for me!” nodded Kenji.
“Then let’s do this!” cheered Takuya taking his Digivice out “Spirit Evolution!”
The kid turned into Agnimon and the others got ready too.
“Agumon Warp Shinka!”
“Veemon Shinka!”
“Guilmon… Biomerge!”
“Gumdramon Chou shinka!”
“Shoutmon Chou shinka!”
“Shouty Chou Shinka!”
“Ryudramon Warp Shinka!”
The digimon took their evolved forms and they ran to where a huge pillar of light was moving. That should be the fount of all that mess, what meant that was WIZ. The closer they get to the place, the more evil digimon they were able to spot until they were attacked. One by one, the scattered digimon attacked the group and make them split.
“Guys… We should stay together!” roared Kaji while the powerful hit of an energy beam knocked him down from OmegaRyudramon.
“Kaji!” yelled the digimon as he caught his partner in the flight “Are you OK?”
“Yes… we should get the others together…” started Kaji but then he smiled and gave a hit to his goggles “No, we must split! That will confuse him! “Guys, join in teams of two!”
“I’m here then!” said Kenji while his partner floated close to them. Shouty had evolved into a les covered form of OmegaShoutmon and was actually called SuperShoutmon.
“That’s good… we are a good team after all” said OmegaRyudramon.
The other kids make use of the order and split also in teams of two. Taichi and Daisuke, Takato and Takuya; and finally Taiki and Tagiru. Each team flew far from the others trying to lose their attackers and also reach the pillar of light.
Surprisingly, there was an absurd number of evil digimon chasing them. They saw four BelialVamdemon, six Piedmon and even two Apocarymon. Taichi, Wargreymon, Daisuke and XVeemon. Escaped as fast as they could. Even they couldn’t give a match in their current state to those digimon.
“C’mon! you gotta be kidding me!” roared Daisuke while the digimon got closer.
“Don’t say that and just focus in escape from their grasp and reach that light!” reproached Taichi.
“You think that would be easy Taichi?” asked Wargreymon dodging the attacks that the four BelialVamdemon shot at them.
“Yeah! This looks pretty dangerous and… well… bad for us” said XVeemon dodging the attacks from the six Piedmon.
“Kaji said it! He trusted in us so we cannot disappoint him” said Daisuke.
“That’s right! Way to talk! Now I see why you earned my goggles and leadership” laughed Taichi.
“C’mon! we can beat them!” said Daisuke and XVeemon stopped turning around to face the enemies.
“I think he’s right” nodded Wargreymon.
They waited for the evil digimon to reach them and attacked.
“Gea Force!” roared Wargreymon and the gigantic ball of power formed into Wargreymon’s hands.
“X Laser!” shouted also XVeemon and his belly shone with the powerful energy.
Both attacks landed into their targets and two of the BelialVamdemon fell disintegrating in the act.
“Well, that was rather useless” said Taichi while the other digimon got closer.
“Then let’s keep with that!” said Daisuke.
“C’mon guys, we are counting with you!” said both kids and their partners nodded.
The rapid fire created a cloud of dust and in the end, only the two Apocarymon remained there. Wargreymon and XVeemon were tired indeed, that was by far the most exhausting battle fighting their worst enemies multiplied. But anyways, there were still two. And they were the most powerful of them.
“You ready for this?” asked between pants XVeemon to Wargreymon.
“It’s not like I haven’t faced them before” said Wargreymon and he laughed.
“Guys you don’t have to effort that much!” said Taichi.
“Yeah! We can run now, It’s not wise to remain when we are this tired!” completed Daisuke.
“I’ll take that as an order” smiled XVeemon taking Daisuke into his back and flaying away.
“Just what I was gonna do” said Wargreymon doing the same with Taichi.
The digimons and kids escaped in direction to the light. Meanwhile the remaining Apocarymon pursuit them as fast as they were flying. They had to get rid of them if they wanted to make it to their destiny alive.
“Any other attack we can use?” asked Daisuke.
“No… you?” asked back Taichi.
“Without Ken and Wormon… nope…” shook his head Daisuke.
“Then we are done for?” asked Taichi and then he started to laugh.
“What’s so funny?” asked Daisuke.
“We haven’t tried something!” said Taichi and Daisuke understood immediately.
The digimons stopped again and flew back standing between the two Apocarymon. They shot their attacks without doing any damage since they were already tired. And then, the two evil digimon attacked with their calws.
“NOW!” roared Taichi and both teams flew up dodging the claws at the last second.
The Apocarymon stabbed each other and they disappeared into a cloud of golden dust.
“That was easy” said sighing Daisuke.
“I guess we have to take a small break” said Taichi and they went into a roof. Their partners returned to the rookie stage and they sat in cover waiting a few minutes to continue.
After them was a small army of Vamdemon and also two Lucemon fallen mode. It looked from their point of view like they were wining since they had already taken the other digimon easily.
“You think this might be all?” asked Dukemon to Agnimon.
“Maybe, but anyways we are still in need of some help” said the human-like digimon pointing at the reinforcements that were almost reaching them. A huge group of Devimon joined the others and started to attack at the same time. Dukemon and Agnimon dodged the best they could and ended up clean.
“Final… Execution!” shouted Dukemon and a beam of energy was shot from his shield destroying some Devimon from the right side.
“Burning Salamander” roared Agnimon and the fire covered other group of Devimon turning them into ashes.
“This is not gonna end soon” said Dukemon flying away next to Agnimon.
“Seems like not…” shook his head Agnimon.
Both digimon descended to the roofs and ran thru them while the evil digimon gave them chase. Agnimon shot his Fire Darts to protect the pair while they dodged the multiple attacks. And if any of the evil digimons got close enough, Dukemon finished it with his Royal Lance. After several minutes dodging, counterattacking and defeating enemies, they road guide them to the pillar of light they were after.
“That’s the thing! Let’s hurry!” said Agnimon sprinting from where they were to the next one.
“Ok then!” nodded Dukemon and sprinted also reaching in two seconds the other digimon.
Once they left their safe spot, the Vamdemon kept the chase next to the remaining Lucemon. Agnimon shot at them again but they dodged immediately. Dukemon seconded the attack with another Final Execution and managed to get rid of some Vamdemon immediately.
“This is getting tiresome” said Agnimon and suddenly he started to shine.
“Wait what are you doing?” asked Dukemon.
“ALDAMON!” roared Aldamon “Just getting ready to annihilate them!”
Takato’s D-Arc started to beep indicating that he was receiving a call. Inside Dukemon he head Kaji’s voice saying that there was another partner he could summon. Kaji gave him a code and when he imputed it into the D-Arc, a portal opened in front of them and Granni descended flying at high speed.
“Granni!” cheered Dukemon and he flew to the device merging with it “Dukemon Crimson mode!”
“Now we are more than ready to get rid of them!” said Aldamon.
Both digimon turned around and prepared their attacks.
“Brahamastra!” roared Aldamon and a huge amount of rockets flew to the Vamdemon making them blow into pieces of data.
“Quo Vadis!” attacked Dukemon and a huge column of energy impacted Lucemon disintegrating him into data.
“Now that was easy” smiled Dukemon.
“No doubt about it” nodded Aldamon.
“Ok then, time to reach the others, I bet they are already there” said Aldamon.
Dukemon nodded this time and both flew to the pillar of green light that moved accros the streets of the city.
They were pursuit by several groups of Lady Devimon and even a DarkKnightmon who seemed different from the one Taiki knew.
“They are chasing after us faster than I thought!” said Tagiru while Arresterdramon flew to the pillar of light.
“We gotta hurry… there’s no time to waste” said Taiki and a huge explosion made them fall to the ground.
“What was that?!” roared Tagiru at the moment they saw a huge digimon preparing a second attack.
“What?!” yelped Taiki looking at the digimon. It was gigantic and ready to attack. His pale skin and red hair made it look terrifying.
“Get on cover!!” someone yelled from behind them.
Taiki, Tagiru, Arresterdramon and OmegaShoutmon obeyed and they saw a huge lycan-like digimon stand in the roof above them.
“WereFenrismon!” roared the blond girl next to the digimon.
“Lycan Chaos!” roared the wolf digimon.
Nekromon received the impacts flinching each time and panting when the attack finished. Immediately WereFenrismon shone in a purple light and an explosion of power impacted Nekromon making him blow into pieces of data.
“Are you two all right?!” asked Riku jumping from the roof surprising Tagiru.
“Yes, we are Riku” panted Taiki a bit for the rushed moves they had to do.
“You know her?” asked Tagiru.
“She’s Kaji’s twin sister, Riku Shinsei” said Taiki surprising Tagiru even more.
“That means you came to help us?” asked tagiru surprised.
“Yes, We couldn’t reach the others easily…” said Riku “Kaji asked us to reach them and bring them here but actually, I guess that’d be impossible since they are defending their respective dimensions. The only ones we could bring were Yamatto and Metalgarurumon, and also Ken and Stingmon.”
“Wait… didn’t you found our friends?” asked OmegaRyudramon.
“Akari, Zenjirou, Nene, Yuu and Kiriha are fighting somewhere else” said Riku “We managed to bring the digispirits of Takuya’s friends as well, but that left their dimension undefended.”
“I got it. That means we won’t be able to create X7” said thoughtful Taiki “This is rather inconvenient.”
“Don’t worry, Now that I’m here the fight will be more balanced, it doesn’t matter if your partners are not all here” said Riku and jumped to where WereFenrismon was waiting for her. “I’ll hurry to meet Kaji so I can inform him. Please hurry up! WIZ is about to attack.”
Riku and WereFenrismon ran thru the roofs and disappeared of sight. Taiki and OmegaShoutmon got ready in less than a second and flew away followed by Tagiru and Arresterdramon.
“Does this means their brothers and sisters are here as well?” asked Arresterdramon.
“I don’t think so” shook his head Taiki “They now that defending each dimension is important. I guess only Riku came to help since OmegaRyudramon and OmegaWolkamimon are needed to create a digimon even more powerful than what we did with the Great Xross last time we had a serious battle against Bagramon.
“Then…” started Tagiru but OmegaShoutmon interrupted.
“Then we have to make our best” said OmegaShoutmon “Our friends are fighting in other places to defend them. Kaji and Riku’s brothers and sisters are also fighting there.”
“That means we need to finish this WIZ” nodded Tagiru.
“And we will” said with courage OmegaShoutmon.
They had passed against a wall of enemies but it was rewarding to see in front of them the figure of WIZ as a machine floating there. It seemed like his previous helper was not there anymore since it was totally erased by Takato and friends.
“Seems like you are out of numbers” smiled Kaji giving one step closer to WIZ.
“I’d think twice before speak if I were you” said WIZ with his mechanical voice and then NeoVamdemon, Bagramon, DarkKnightmon, Apocarymon, BelialVamdemon and Lucemon larva mode made their appearance in front of them “These are the original ones. Not the copies you’ve been busting one by one.”
“He recreated all of them!” shouted Kenji looking at the six dangerous digimon.
“You are still missing one friend there” said OmegaRyudramon laughing “And guess what? He’s on our side now!”
“You mean that idiot of Youkaidramon?” asked WIZ and released a mechanical laugh “I don’t worry about the dead digimon that cannot return to live.”
“You think so?” asked Kaji grabbing with strength his D-Zero “I can still digimaterialize him.”
“Last thing I remember was him fading away” smiled WIZ.
“And when you were busy fighting against our chosen kids, Yamii, Riku and I managed to bring him back. He’s not that bad as you thought” said Kaji and he raised his D-Zero “Digimaterialize! NEGARYUDRAMON!”
NegaRyudramon appeared there next to Kaji. His body still shining like if he were about to disappear.
“I thought I told you never to call me” grunted NegaRyudramon.
“He’s back” was the only words of Kaji.
NegaRyudramon looked up and saw WIZ. He smiled and nodded.
“Digievolve me” said the black copy of Ryudramon.
“NegaRyudramon Warp Shinka!” said Kaji.
But before the digimon managed to evolve, WIZ and his soldiers attacked him and his data bursted.
“NO! NEGARYUDRAMON!” yelled at the same time OmegaRyudramon and Kaji.
“I warned you” said WIZ while the data entered OmegaRyudramon’s body “It was not useful to bring him here.”
“He says he won’t come back again if you summon him” said OmegaRyudramon.
The two kids looked at each other and then at their enemies. That looked like a lost battle. The six digimon were ready to blow their attacks again and WIZ seemed to be happy about that. And just in that moment they heard it.
“Brahamashira!”
“Yuggoth Blaster!”
“Prism Garret!”
“OmegaThe Fusion!”
“Garuru Cannon!”
“Positron Laser!”
“Omega Blaster!”
The attacks made the evil digimon to lose focus and cancel their attacks. The Omega Blaster impacted WIZ making him flinch while the digimon and kids rushed towards Kaji, Kenji, OmegaRyudramon and SuperShoutmon.
“Glad you all managed to come” said Kaji “Wait, where are the others?”
“Defending the remaining dimensions” said Yamatto taking deep breaths from the race.
“WIZ was attacking the other places too, so they stayed there to fight” said Ken.
“Clockmon even recruited Masaru and friends” said Riku “Masaru wanted to come but they needed him more there, so he had to stay”
“That’s good then. But we have to finish this for once and for all” said Kaji looking at the enemies that returned to their battle stances.
“I agree” nodded Riku “We should finish it now!”
“I won’t let you do that to me again!” roared WIZ and the six evil digimon rushed against them while the kids got ready for the fight.
The final battle was about to start and the kids were ready for it. They had the hope of their friends next to them. And that made them stronger. But would that be enough to finish WIZ for once and for all?
