Belle still mixes her adoptive father's tempera paint, although she doesn't get payed for it anymore.  It's a loving gesture, but she feels it leaves room for some laziness.

Yes, her hand is a quicker way to mash together pigment, egg-white, and binder.  It's also less thorough way to mix it.  Not to mention that most of that semiprecious Lapus powder will get stuck in her fur and create a mess.

Lucky for her father, he has a bit of a 6th sense when it comes to Belle being ridiculous.  So,
