I've given in to that same temptation a couple times and have regretted it every time. So, I don't do it anymore. I realize the intentions behind it are good enough, but a notice log full of throw away journals that are just ads isn't something I'm a fan of and I imagine many people aren't a fan of it either.

Eh, I tend to have bad luck too, and yet I've managed to win a few times :D It's not impossible, but at the same time, commissioning a picture is much nicer, since you have much more of a say into what the finished product will be.

Well, the entire point of raffles (at least from what I understand) is to gain some extra publicity (the dreaded currency of "influencers"), and I think they tend to be quite effective at that - while it might be annoying seeing all of those advertising journals every now and then, I have found a few new artists that I like through them :3
