Ever since I started reading the original comic I've wondered about Lyrie. Is she out and out lesbian or is she bisexual or is she only bisexual with Angelica?

Personally I just wonder if Lyrie’s first time was with someone raping her and that is why her father kept her away from her best friend after middle school. I mean in the first comic it was mentioned by Angelica that after the first day of middle school Lyrie’s eyes seemed empty, so I wonder if she was hurt in that way, possibly by a relative.

It would also explain how aggressive and dominant she is in the relationship. People who are abused sometimes seek out relationships where they have the control.
I have the impression that Lyrie may be seeking Angelica's attention for control and possibly also genuine interest in her. She seems to encourage Angelica to take the lead now and again so maybe she is trying to make an honest attempt to keep the relationship even and not so one sided.
