My first approximation at Church.

Okay, so.. I'm not entirely happy with it.
I normally work from models and photos for reference, and this was mostly just off the top of my head, just to get something on paper.

Obviously no colors, tho I may go back later and try.

I'll be honest, I haven't done any real drawing since my Dad died, about a year and a half ago.
But if I don't try to get back into it, I'm just going to be giving up on my work. That makes me feel like Ive been wasting the last forty years, and I don't like it.

Hey, he looks great! Don't be so hard on yourself. All kinds of art choir practice, whether it's music, writing, drawing...I know for a fact that I couldn't draw like this, because I've never put in the practice. I can definitely see that you've got some skills, and if you feel that they are rusty, then you should work on sketching, drawing, painting, or whatever medium suits you best. I think you'll find that most of us will be happy to see whatever it is that you produce.

And as someone who has lost many people close to him, I know how difficult it can be to get back into feeling creative after their loss. You can't blame yourself for just being human after all.
