This is Chikako, a 325 year old ninja hanyou. Born to a female fox yokai and a male human, her life was not an easy one. Since the day she was born, she was insulted and persecuted by those around her. Her parents did their best to raise her with all the love and care she deserved. They did all they could to make her life at least somewhat close to stable. However, it wasn’t meant to last...
Backstory: One fateful day, when Chikako was only a teenager, a tragedy struck her household. She had returned home from an errand to find her home destroyed... and her loving parents dead. In her shock and grief, she turned to see the culprits were a mob of angry humans. Tired of having to live near a “filthy half-breed” (their words, not mine), they decided to take action and get rid of her and her family. As they prepared to send Chikako to meet her parents, her sorrow and fear quickly turned to anger. With just a single scream, she released a torrent of flame that reduced the xenophobic offenders to ashes. After that, she was alone. Scared, angry, and most of all, alone. No family and no one call a friend. For decades she wandered the land, distrustful and hostile toward both humans and yokai alike. Those who knew of her made sure to stay away, lest they incur her fiery wrath.
Eventually, she found her way to a dojo belonging to a wise ninja master. Originally as hostile as she normally was, she treated him with clear distrust and disrespect. Rather than get angry at her, he instead offered her kindness and tea. Eventually they began to talk, and they grew close. Overtime she became one of his students, and stayed with the dojo even after her master’s death. She now lives as a guardian and advisor, occasionally venturing to other places whenever she feels needed. (Or whenever she gets bored, which ever comes first).
Personality: Normally serious and focused, with a dry sense of humor. When around someone she doesn’t know, she tends to be rather blunt and standoffish. However, when in the company of friends and loved ones, she can be a bit more open. She’s normally the voice of reason, but from time to time will try to be more comical. Keyword being “try.”
•Fun Fact: Her favorite food is fried tofu with General Tso’s chicken. She also has a beautiful singing voice, but is shy and thinks that she sounds terrible.
