While doing research for a future project,  I got almost completely distracted by wandering the encyclopedias of Egyptian god/esses.  There is so much crazy with those holy oddballs.  Far more fun than their fellow Greek pantheons if you ask me.  Course it could just be because i am a goofy furry.

Back on task,  a well known story from Egyptian myth is the story of Sekhmet getting slipped some roofies to stop her vengeance rampage.  The war goddess had some of her power removed, and had it remolded into a different goddess  (Who it was is up for debate).  One thing I had discovered was that Sekhmet was married to Ptah.  Ptah was the god of architecture and was associated with a bull.  By all accounts, he was not a fighter.  He was focused on building.  And he married a war goddess so powerful even Ra feared direct confrontation with her.  Oh lord did that give some ideas!

So here is some headcannon-

-  There is debate over who sprang from Sekhmet's extra power.  Either Bast or Hathor.... I say why choose!  In my head Hathor and Bast are twin sisters (one a cow, one a cat, dont you dare try to tell them they are not sisters).  Making Sekmet a jock MILF.  She had that much power.

-   Ptah caught Sekmet's attention when Egypt had to deal with invading Pantheons from other countries.  She was having a hard time stalling the Roman pantheons when the awkward bull helped upgrade designs to the ships and swords.  After a few wars she, quite literally, took him as a husband.

-  Sekmet and Ptah have 2 sons together.  The lion god, Nefertem, is mommy's little bab and is a god of beauty, perfume, and lotus flowers.  He is a gentle kitty and loves to weave flower crowns into his mane.
The lion god, Maahes, is a war god like his mother.  He loves to make swords, knives and all manner of pointy things for stabbing.  He rides on Ra's boat to fight the snakes of destruction.

- Because Ptah is constantly chattering about building things, this inspired Sekhmet to not just rend her foes, but to study the inner workings of the body as well.  Causing her to also become a goddess of medicine.

-  Although she has fought many religious pantheons in her time, she is actually good friends with the greek god, Dionysus.  They have a running bet to see who can drink the other under the table.  Both are banned from visiting Valhalla for partying too hard.... even by Norse standards.

-  Sekhmet is very jealous that Serket gets to be the medic on Ra's solar barge.  She is a better fighter, dangit!  She stopped complaining after she hooked up with Ptah.  Ra was pleased.

Thats all thus far.  Do you wanna see more?  Let me know.

"Ra was pleased" - you might say that he had gained a sunny disposition?

She threatened to make him a raft of snake hides.  Once she settled down, she only offers to make him a nice belt.
