Again you're just jumping to conclusions alternate Dawn. You haven't even done proper research to find out how they're connected or if they can be separated. Perhaps it was too late from the time the parasite started acting on its own?

Right! We are talking about a parasite, after all! It is quite possible that the crying act is one of its defensive strategies to prevent it from being removed!

the only thing he did for this situation is kiss the parasite to make a card that he has not looked at. than he listed off every problem that can come up with parasites that he knows of. serene is an amalgamation of multiple beings that fell into their world. he said as much himself after examining her in crazy future. https://inkbunny.net/s/825131 because of that his actions come off wrong to me.

"the only thing he did for this situation is kiss the parasite"
Ant the other side-problem with that is...DRUM ROLL...What if Alter has got the Parasite as well??? As long as He plays the "What if...?"-game, Alter ought to go and "what if I caught the parasite" Himself! He may think of Serene's well being, but based on His "What if...?" line of thinking, He automatically smells of hypocrisy...He burns Himself just as much with His own words! Hilarious! Look a t that d@mn card!!!! XD

Yeah I kind of agree with your worst case scenario it was my reasoning over my post a few pages back. The post where I stated that it may have been too late from day one and the later post where I state it that it may have been too late when the parasite started acting on its own. Long story short he has done no research so he does not know one way or the other what the situation is.

Parasite or not, in this world this not means natural behavior i say, and if you want to go depe it is racism saying one type of parasite is like the others, which i would dare say is the message here, not judge by looks or what the norm is.

but there is a diference between a stereotype and a qualification property, for something to be parasitical it has to cause harm to the host rather it want it or not, if it doesnt then it isnt a parasite in the first place

This kind of reminds me of a Scean I read in The Magus Bride. A Sucubis falls in Love with an Old Man, a famoues writer. She decids not to feed on him and stay by his side, even though he can't see her. Turns out, even though she wasn't trying to, she was still leaching his life away just by being around him, being his muse. In the end, he died, just more slowly.
You don't always have control over what you are, even when you think you do. Often times, we hurt the ones we Love without meaning to. Thoses are the wounds that hurt the most.

This could also be a symbiotic thing as well. Without that parasite, she might not be able to function properly or at all. Removing it might kill her. Then again, this guy has the bedside manner of a mortician. Someone needs to break his nose and cut off his tail. let him think long and hard about how he words things.

Spike- *sighs* I think the author forgot about us. Mystery mare/ rarity: Being offscreen isn't so bad, the readers can't see me trying out my new liver. BARKEEP! ANOTHER! Spike: uh...That's a coat rack. I think you've had too much.
Meanwhile on the other side of the room... Spike- *sighs* I think the author forgot about us. Myste
All Parasites Must Die. If the parasite was symbiotic in its relationship to the host (as it improves or helps the host) then it would not be a parasite. Parasites only take and do not give, that is why they must be removes and taken away.

Changelings are parasitic beings as well, since they steal love and never give back...the...stolen...love. Waitaminute! ... .. . Oh yeah, they can do that. In fact, giving back love is a part of their next step of evolution. In MLP:FiM-world, even parasites can be changed to good. All depends on the writer. :3

Given how Dawn is going about this, I am more likely to argue that the "Parasite" that grew on Serene's tail is something akin to how the "Zerg" from Starcraft or the "Tyranids" From 40K are made. They can grow and detach themselves from the host. Serene is a type of "Queen" that is capable of making sentient "units" that would more or less around the prospect of making her happy. These units start akin to a parasitic nature until it has grown enough to detach itself from her.
Also, can we remember the fact that we've only been calling it a "Parasite" since Dawn "Assumed" it was one in the 1st place? And you can't tell me that it "confirmed" it, since it itself most likely is/was running off of the same knowledge bank from Serene to begin with. She doesn't know what it is, so "It" doesn't know what it is.
They need to Read the Card so we can finally know what it is, as well as any descriptions that comes with it to have a better understanding. I personally don't think it is a "Parasite" in the context that Dawn has given us.

I like the Zerg-Queen Serene idea. Soon She could have a litter of tiny sons and daughters...or protectors, if She is facing a hostile situation. The tiny beings could even merge into a larger being, or into a Serene-clone-alike! It could be how Her body solves the mate-problem even, since She is the only one of Her hybrid race for now! Yes, that idea pleases me!!!

if a parasite is sentient, then there is a chance of the creature being capable of making sure that the host lives a happy if not sometimes better life than otherwise, see the Tok'ra from the stargate, a faction of a parasitic race called the Goa'uld, a serpent-like a parasite that merges with the host's brain at the back of the neck, wrapping around the spine after entering the body. the host gets superior strength, a far longer lifespan, and a crazy strong immune system, to the point that terminal cancer becomes reversible. The difference is that a Goa'uld dominates the host, taking complete control and suppressing the host's consciousness, they are forced to watch everything, and the parasites are not often friendly to others.
The Tok'ra in comparison, share the body with their host by consciously sharing control with the host, and have even been known to sacrifice themselves to save their hosts. there is no way to understand if this creature is one or the other, without studying what effect it has on the body, it calls itself a parasite, but has no idea what it exactly does, not yet anyway.

Good call mentioning the Stargate lore of those creatures! You know your Sci-Fi. However, the parasite, that merged into Serene is based on (!only according to my assumption!!) the anime titled "Parasite". Giving the nature of the author is referencing a ton of mainstream anime, I place my bet on that.
Still, Stargate (both movie and the series) was nerdy, awesome, and a ton of fun to watch! :D

Oh I know, but in general the parasites in that anime are all leaning toward goa'uld mentality sooooo :P, our dear friend Migi only turned out the way it did because it had no choice, same with the mouth one, that other dude had, plus in general they don't have emotions like serenes one does, or at least it seems to.

And that's why I developed my two theory just above your original comment.
Kindness might be a side-effect of the element of Harmony harmonizing the hybrid's body. Also, the Changelings were/are parasites as well, but they can turn around and give love as the next evolutionary stage in their life.
In the Zerg-queen theory (which is neither the tri-races) The Queen and the Zerg are a hive mind (the parasite sees/feels Serene's feelings, possibly to be bound to her nervous system and/or brain) and while the Queen's life/well being is a priority, the Queen of Blades clearly feels emotionally attached to each of the Zerg under Her command, at least on a "Space Bug Pet Owner"-ish level. That mutual, back and forth caring is based on each of the Zerg aiming to minimize casualties and damages, while ensuring the utmost benefits to the Zerg race. While this is the least connected to being a host-parasite relationship, the mutual caring part fits the MLP:FiM universe like a glove! ☺

The advantages of having a Tok'ra are numerous and highly tempting...aside that they have an unhealthy drive to battle the Goa'uld to almost a crazed, overzealous extent, while being hunted back until one side wins the war.

i think that it was a parasite before the harmonization and now it have a mutualist relation. also far as i can remember from my biology classes the are 3 types of relation 1 symbiotic, 2 mutualism, 3 parasitism

What if the Parasite ALREADY infested Serene's whole body??? It could have already merged with vital organs like the heart or even with the brain. You want proof? I have proof! Serens's vocal cords. The parasite uses them, and that's why Serene's mute! The parasite is already deep in Her, like "stealing/borrowing Her vocal cord"-deep!
Alter, you are too late. They are merged too much! Move on with kissing strangers, little pony! >XD

yeah....fuck you Altar Dawn....o3o you are basing all your assumptions that this thing functions like a NORMAL parasite. Serene is not a normal creature and who is to say that this is how her body normally functions?
