I started drawing outfits some time ago (and now noticed I have not posted one outfit sheet here, shame on me x.X) and this little collection here will be on maternity looks :)
Part 1: What they expect you to wear while pregnant vs what I’m actually wearing Guess which one is which XD Honestly, I was very unhappy to find out that all the clothes in the maternity store are not only super pricy but also huge and wide, and very unflattering x.X The gray dress is one is a hand-me-down I got with a few other maternity dresses that are super long, shapeless and NOT comfortable at all -.-
Like, c’mon ppl, just because “I’m pregnant doesn’t mean I have to look like a barrel with a dress!!! >,<
So I raided the YouTube channels to see what the people with some sense of fashion have to say on the matter and guess what - almost no one who goes for the more elegant style (like I do) wears maternity clothes, except a few basics like leggings with space for the belly and similar.
I headed to the local malls and thrift stores and found clothes, totally non-maternity, that are a good fit for my current figure and this is my 1st combo outfit (in black & pastel violet) - a simple knee length black dress from a stretchy fabric and a stretchy crop-top camy that I folded a bit at the bottom to fit better around the belly (which is not too visible from the front) :3 Simple, elegant, and I can wear this when I’m not pregnant too cuz it’s still gonna fit in pretty much the same way.
