The little critter is training himself to confront his nemesis: Seviper. Of course, even if he should train his claws, he's convinced that his tiny bite will be enough to battle and faint his adversary. I don't really know if i should believe him, but hey... he does look pretty cute with his plushy, so i won't disturb him while he nom noms it!
