So I made this a couple days ago cus I was dealing with the reality of what is going on. my own police was firing on an-armed peaceful protesters. all cus they are sick of black people being killed without accountability. I can't stand for this and I wont. to pretend police brutality is a non-issue is to piss in my own Mexican mother's eye. to piss in the eye of all trans men and woman. to piss in the eye of my mom's first husband who was a closeted gay that died during the aids cover-up. it's currently pride month and as a trans-fem, bisexual, Poc. I deserve to care for my future and that of my friends and family and I have a right to express that. I have the right to protest those who claim to serve and protect me. If you don't agree then you're better off in the little boxes they are throwing us in. I will not pander to you no more.
Black lives matters and Pride is about overcoming historic oppression and respecting those who fell so we could have freedom.

Someone comes up to you and essentially says, "Why are you so sad? A bunch of people die every day," like that's supposed to mean something. "Black Lives Matter" is an important statement because there's a prevalent undercurrent in American society (elsewhere too but I don't have the sociological background to address that meaningfully) that black and brown lives don't matter. It is the job of the police to put their boot on people's necks. If they wish to refuse to do that job, they either must quit or be fired. They should start an investigation against other police who seem to only pull over black people, they should refuse orders and strike when commanded to teargas peaceful protests. A good cop would be a pariah. A good cop would protest their department's toxicity. But we don't see any of that happening. Even if they want the best for their community, even if they want to enforce the law and make the world a better place, they capitulate to the pressures they're under.
