It's basically a big ball of creamy dough, and has a bread-ish taste. The octopus doesn't take like much, and it's very little and in the middle of the ball. On top is takoyaki sauce, which is DELICIOUS. It takes a little like sweet BBQ sauce, and has bonito and seaweed flakes sprinkled on top to make it a little salty.
