The air was cool, and it had just rained. A bit of a wind had kicked up as Poly walked along the seawall. There was no emergency here, no adventure. No one chasing her. Just a quiet night and the smell of the ocean. She smiled.
She wouldn't be here for long - that would be boring, and there wasn't anywhere to sit because it was all wet, but for a moment in time it was nice. She didn't have enough moments like this. Her fault, really. But so it goes.
Yes, just a nice, quiet walk! Poly knows they're wonderful, and yet, strangely enough, she doesn't do them nearly enough. And hah. Sometimes one wants time to ones self.

I mean yeah, you don't want to sit idle too long. It does get pretty boring, and it blunts your edge. But it can be nice to have a day or two off now and then, and that looks like a pleasant enough place to dwell for the moment. It's nice to see Poly getting to enjoy the fresh evening air, and maybe plan her night out without having to rush or hurry. Lucky girl. I think we could all use a nice night out just about now.

There is a certain pleasure in sitting idle, in having nowhere to go, nothing to do, no one chasing you and no one needing you. Poly does like it sometimes. But yes, it can get boring eventually! And it can blunt her edge. It's always interesting getting back into an adventure after being idle for a while.
Poly sometimes takes more than a couple of days off - she's certainly not in any rush against a clock. But yes, it's a pleasant enough place to dwell before moving on. I don't think she has any plans for tonight - she's going to see where the streets take her.
We could indeed.
