Today was a special day.
I wasn't just the sunlight glistening off of budding leaves, or the fact the fresh air was laced with the sweet smell of spring and new life, it was the day of a birth. A very special one at that.
All across the forests, creatures big and small ran to congratulate the mother and see the newborn son, Bambi, prince of the forest. Who just now was opening his eyes to a new world, one of colour and rebirth, and scary owls apparently.
The deer recoiled in fear as he stared at the face of friend owl, although that fear quickly dissipated when he realised the strange creature was friendly, just like all the other animals surrounding the perplexed animal. Who honked out a few confused sounds before beginning to stand up, something in the back of his young mind telling that he could do it. It was a little difficult at first but eventually, much to the amusement and then excitement of everyone there, Bambi finally learned to stand on his own two feet as the newborn prince of the forest. One of the many animals that had come to witness this was Thumper the rabbit.
Thumper was the youngest of 6 kids in his family, and he was always know for being a very curious one. Always wanting to get answers to every question that his young mind had, and also always being prepared to do almost anything to get those answers.
When he saw that the young deer kid was trying to stand up for the first time, he got very excited. "Look! He's trying to get up!" He said right before he ran of towards him.
So when the new born Bambi was trying to take his first stapling steps around, he soon noticed that he had a little rabbit kid following him very closely. This made walking a bit more difficult then it usually would have been, since he was trying his best to not step onto the smaller creature.
It was no easy task for poor Bambi as the little rabbit had to jump around everywhere (and even sneak under him at times) to see just how his legs worked. Finally it made Bambi lose his balance and stumble back right into the resting body of his mother.
This made all the animals laugh a little at the deer kid and they felt afterwards that it would be best to let the kid be alone for some time. But Thumper wasn't still feeling that his curiously was settled, so when his family made their way he discreetly sneaked away from them and went back to the deer mother and son resting.
Bambi had ambled about on his young, lanky legs, almost squishing the rabbit underneath burgeoning hooves as he did. The deer wasn't angry though, he was happy to have a friend to play with especially one that was so eager and energetic, he even wondered if he himself could that fast one day although right now it looked like no more than a pipe dream. Bambi also noticed that Thumper had quite a nice scent, all friendly and young and tickling the deer's nose as it wafted beneath him. Moving about to get a better sniff of the enticing smell, Bambi ended up losing his balance and teetering around for a few moments before finally falling back onto the softness of his mother's belly.
He couldn't but feel a little embarrassed as the forest creatures laughed at him, although it wasn't mean spirited so he didn't get too hung up about it. Still, the little dance he'd just done with Thumper had made the deer tired and so he finally nuzzled into his mother and prepared to sleep as the rest of the forest began to depart, ready to tell everyone they knew of this wonderful event.
Bambi's short sleep however, was interrupted as that scent came back within smelling range, the rabbit. Thumper, his mum had said his name was. The deer let out a sleep honk of hello, his vocal chords not trained well enough to speak, and shifted his head for his new friend to come closer. Bambi also noticed that he was quite hungry but a quick look at his mother told him that she was fast asleep and not much would wake her up, seems he'd just have to wait then.
He wanted to see his bunny friend in the eyes, but his own eyes where still pretty unused of seeing Sunlight, so he kept them closed for the moment.
He also still felt pretty tired so when he was about to try and communicate with his new friend again, he instead yawned.
And what a yawn it was! Thumper had never seen another animal open up its mouth so big in any kind of situation before. "It looked to be so big that I could just bend forward and look down into it!" Thumper thought and did just that.
Not knowing any kind of limit to his own curiosity the rabbit child lifted his legs and stood on his little tippy toes, and stared down into the dark tunnel that was Bambi's throat. (Given how long time Bambi was taking this yawn, he thought he would be able to do one quick peak inside there before the deer child closed his mouth.)
Bambi yawned as wide as he could, being a little surprised himself by how far he could stretch his young jaws. He had no idea that Thumper had moved so close to him and was peering down that dark, pulsating throat almost beckoning him forward. Where Bambi a wolf or a fox Thumper would of been naturally terrified but not here, Deers weren't predatory creatures at all.
but suddenly, Bambi sensed that the rabbit was right beside him and so wrenched his jaws shut so as not to appear rude, but in the process ended up closing them right on Thumper!
His mouth was suddenly filled with meat, a new substance he had never tried before but found strangely...appetising. Thumper was delicious, plump with natural fat and teeming with enticing lapine flavour. Against his better judgement, Bambi began to swallow.
Poor Thumper was really in a bit of a predicament now.
His curiosity of wanting to see how the deep insides of his new found deer had now lead to him being halfway down it's throat!
Trying his best to wiggle out he pretty quickly found out that he was stuck! With both his head and front paws being inside the bigger mammal's mouth, he could do nothing but trying to kick his tiny little bunny legs to free himself.
As for Bambi this was all a pretty weird situation. In a matter of seconds he had gone from simply yawning to now having something stuck down his throat. Something that was alive!
The young deer child was as you could guess very surprised and a little scared over what was going on.
"What had happened?"
"How did it happen?"
And "What was he going to do?"
His eyes widened with confusion and some fear, looking up at his mother for some direction towards fixing this problem, but she was fast asleep and besides, Thumper was in to far for any sounds he made to be heard. “mmhhhpp!” Bambi squeaked but made no effort to remove the rabbit from his jaws, saliva dripping down it's back and cascading down to the floor below as he sat there, wondering why he was so reluctant to let Thumper go.
He was hungry...maybe that had something to do with it? His stomach was rumbling a little in anticipation, telling and tempting him to swallow the little creature whole. No would know, and Thumper did taste quite delicious, all raw and plump with natural fat, those legs kicking away at thin air in a desperate escape attempt. And so, with another quick glance at his mother, Bambi continued began to swallow down his struggling meal.
Never having eaten anything except his mother's milk before Bambi decided to make this his first ever real meal.
Thumper started to panic more as he felt the deer kid take a second gulp. He knew that the rabbit was inside, and he was planning to send him to his stomach! But with his front arms pinned to his sides he could to nothing else then kick his back legs faster then he had ever before. (But given their short length it did absolutely nothing to help.)
It wasn't like Bambi knew what he was doing was wrong, as he just was a small child that had been brought to the world just recently. He had no concept over that Deer's where suppose to eat plants, and not be predators. But eating this rabbit had started something in Bambi's young mind. He had actually started to get a taste (No pun intended) for it. He liked the whole thing. The taste of the fur, the big size of it entering his throat, and even the feeling of it making resistance intrigued him.
As the little bunny butt and hind legs entered his mouth, Bambi gave it a quick lick all around with his tongue before sending his (used to be) friend further down. Holding his mouth close Bambi could see that the little Bunny tail was the only part of Thumper that was still hanging outside. But one quick "slurp" made even that thing go in, and final big swallow made the whole "prey" go down into his stomach.
Thumper slid down the tight throat with some difficulty, the oesophagus finding it hard to move his fat body down to the waiting belly. Unfortunately for him, his fear-filled wriggles only made the inevitable happen quicker as he slipped further and further down, the smell of stomach acid in his little nose. After a few moment the rabbit realised that he was sitting on some sort of fleshy opening, the sphincter, which suddenly flexed and dragged him down into his final destination, the belly. It was quite spacious, although that was of little comfort to Thumper as he struggled about, trying to find a way out of this hot and foul-smelling prison.
Bambi let out a long sigh of relief as the bunny finally slipped into his belly, filling him with meat for the first time in his life, not to mention the wonderful feeling of feet and paws giving him a lovely massage from the inside. The deer could hear some protests from within punctuated by gurgles and drowned out with the excessive churning of his belly, which wasn't used to eating meat but was nonetheless willing to try and break down the large hunk of it present in his stomach. Bambi bent over and nuzzled the sparse fur on his engorged organ, the bumps Thumper was making inside clearly visible but noticeable only to Bambi, his mother sleeping soundly and unaware of the dark thing that had taken place nearby.
Bambi was still slightly unsure if what he had done was right. He did feel his hunger was satisfied, but also the fact that he swallowed something that was still alive seemed a little bit "wrong". But that's when it hit him!
He remembered how he had been showed to all the other animals in the forest when he had just been woken up earlier, and why would they all care that much? Because he and his kind must be high ranking predators! They where all there to pay respect to his family as to not be eaten later, and this rabbit must have been some kind of sacrifice to him.
It had to make sense cause of how much bigger then the rest he was. (And he was still just a kid, so imagine how much bigger he would be as an adult!) Feeling that there was still some small struggling in his belly the dear kid lowered his head and nudged at the lump slightly, liking the feeling he got from it. "It's almost like I'm getting a belly massage, but from the inside!" Bambi thought as he yawned again and felt he needed to go back to sleep and let this smaller mammal digest.
Before he closed his eyes he saw something in the distance. A small Skunk that seemed to be all by himself, playing in the flowers. "I think I have found my meal for tomorrow." Bambi thought before he finally went back to sleep.
