We both step out and dry off. He wrapped my paw and foot. I head into the kitchen. My kitchen is damn near spotless. He went nuts. "Wow. You did a number on my kitchen." He grinned. "Least I could do! Was going to clean your living room too but I got worried." That's not necessary. "You didn't have to do that." "Of course I do, you're my friend." Not going to argue, it was nice of him. Albeit completely unnecessary. "Yeah. I guess so. Let's hit the store. I need more gauze." I go to walk out when he steps in front of the door, arms spread out. "Stay! I'll go! You should just rest." This is getting a little out of hand. "Well I kinda also need groceries. And more juice." I say a little impatiently. "Oh... Well..." I gently move him aside and open the door. He hugs my waist, holding me tightly. "Please don't!" What is this guy's problem? "Dude, I'm not going to die walking two blocks to the grocery store. Let go." He holds on. "Then I'm coming with!" Uh, duh. "Well yeah, you're kind of needed. I can't carry what I need on my own. I figure you owe me that much." He lets go and grabs my good hand. "Okay! Let's go!" He's weird. Good weird.
We walked back in, Josh tried carrying everything but it became quickly apparent to him he couldn't. He was pretty small after all. Well, for a wolf. We put everything away and I sat on the couch. He sat next to me, his side against mine as usual. We were both drinking the wine out of less appropriate plastic cups Josh found stashed in my cupboard.
"Why do you do this?" "Do what?" I point to his side. "This. You're always pressed against me." He shrugged. "I don't know... I kinda always have sat next to people like this. Me and my brother had to share a rocking chair when we watched TV so I've always been pressed against somebody. Guess it's just comfortable for me." He seems to have to have shared everything. "There anything you didn't share with your brother?" "Nope!" "Wasn't that... Difficult?" He looked in my eyes. "Maybe at first but I quickly got used to it. I've always shared everything."
We continued talking into the night. Drinking the wine until it was gone. I was pretty tired. "I think it's time to sleep." Josh nodded. "Yeah I'm tired too." We both head into the room. At this point I'm too tired to argue with him when he crawls into bed with me. He's pressed against my back, holding onto me for dear life. I give up and let him. I'm exhausted. Josh... Is really weird. But it's fine. He's a good friend. Wonder what will happen tomorrow?
