my grandfather used to say some people are cursed by a cycle of misery .
at times my father wouldn't try to understand things, he would only repeat "it's your grandfather's cycle of misery" .
i used to think every cycle could be broken, but sometimes i wonder if it's really true .

i do think every cycle can be broken with enough self-awareness and empathy. the echoes of pain from it may linger, but as long as just one person in the cycle decides to not put their pain on others, the chain is broken.

feel free to vent to me if you need <3
this pic is powerful, i relate to it a lot.

I agree that it is possible to stop the cycle, but a lot of times the misery goes on even if not in the same way as the previous person . Sometimes it's hard not to think I'm continuing it anytime something minor happens hah
Thank you a lot for the kind words ~ <3

Any cycle can be broken if the person trapped in it has the will to stop it. That's how i think about it.

Very relatable, I understand the mindset of feeling stuck as a toxic person, but I agree that it's definitely possible to break it away with awareness and choices.

Hang in there <3

It takes effort, courage and a desire to face your past. When you decide to stop the cycle, the inertia of that entire chain slams into you, and may drive you to suicide.

Sometimes its a hard decision to make, knowing the risks deep down.

I can relate wholeheartedly to this piece... not me personally, but I witnessed my niece & nephews undergo some disruptive ugly shit from their father. My bro-in-law insisted that he'd been traumatized by his own father and that he was tormented by his dad and so on... its a real shame to echo that level of disruptive resentment throughout many generations, yet sooo so so many families fall into that tangible cycle and implode from within as a direct result. :'(

It is so very refreshing to witness the resonating themes that revolve around your illustrations. IMHO, this fandom lacks any legitimate moral quandary on most occasions involving abuse and sibling turmoil. With that said, I can't help but feel a heavy-hitting surge of strangely queer sentient relief to witness this family in the midst of their deepest emotional moments. It helps to call out to certain therapeutic outlets which many never get a chance to receive... as well as allow us to take a deeper look into ourselves and perceive what we consider right and wrong.

Holy hell.
Thank you so much for sharing this piece!

Even with the furry community being focused on entertainment, there are a lot of people that share personal stuff, be it with art, writing, etc, and I really appreciate that too ~ Sometimes I wonder if I should post something of if it's way too personal/serious, and it makes me truly happy to be able to have others saying it's personal to them too .
Family issues are mostly kept hidden from the outside world so it can be hard to shake off the feeling that you're the only one experiencing those kinds of things .
Thank you for the comment !

So many positive feelings in the comment section of this one. It feels good to have these things vented and explored... No matter how painful they can be to remember.

Plenty of good can come from this sort of thing. Diving deeply into the pain is a form of coping, after all. It can lead to good or ill. But you've always made it turn into a kind of lesson, if not then kind of catharsis.

Now now.. If you have too many feels, just imagine she's talking to him about sports. Like he twisted an ankle badly flubbing a soccer kick. That's a very painful lesson!... For those of us with a sadistic streak.. we will imply OTHER things.

Will we ever see what kind of person Sofi grows up to be? Provided she lives that long anyway.

Probably ! I have some ideas for how she'd turn out as an adult .

It's so easy to hurt others without realizing it. I think forgiving yourself is where you have to start. It took me a long time to learn that, and I'm still learning it. We have to heal before we can move in the world without causing needless pain.
