The small hedgehog rushed through the dense parts of the meadow, running away from another insignificant conflict. Shortly behind the universally recognised blue blur and a pale rose. SJ quickly charged up his powers, throwing and growing blunt crystals to stunt their ever shrinking gap. Mindless thoughts channeling through his head as the blue-grey hedgehog kept sprinting, before swiftly jumping on to an alder tree, now hopping from tree to tree, dodging between branches that might slow him down.
What happened, you may ask? Sonic and SJ were on a mission to help a trapped mobian in a mine, the two bickered and clashed against each other's plans to free the mobian. SJ originally planned to use his whip as a revel, to pry the victim out of the collapsed mine. Sonic however, wanted to rush in there and get them out quicker. Despite both being decent ideas, their plans quickly go ary as another mission sprung up, this one more urgent. Sonic wanted to go on the more urgent mission, but couldn't leave SJ on his own due to the burning memories of the rebellion engraved his mind.
Several minutes of the argument go by, the smaller hedgehog got more and more agitated, pleading with Sonic that he could manage this. The azure hedgehog refused, claiming that SJ wouldn't change if left to his own devices. Sending the spiteful hedgehog into a frustrated run, causing Sonic to follow with the mobian in tow. Quickly taking the miner to the hospital, before briefly ordering Amy to follow SJ with him.
Now that the conflict has been told, SJ continued to bowl through the trees, using his whip to swing to those trees that he couldn't jump to. Reaching to the Great Oak, the largest tree by Knothole, he scrambled up, reaching half-way before slumping on a sturdy branch. Panting and wheezing for fresh air.
The two hedgehogs on the ground spotted him moments later, looking up at the younger hedgehog. Sonic immediately prepared himself to climb the tree, before Amy interrupted.
"Wait, Sonic. Shouldn't you wait for her to return home? She's not going anywhere." Amy hushed to him.
"And get another rebellion on our hands?! I've lost Shadzie before, she had a rebellion! And with Scourge rumoured around these parts they could team up once again!" Sonic replied, being pulled off the tree by Amy.
"Scourge is here? Good. Let him come to me, I'll show him how much pain he caused me!" SJ growled, clutching his stomach briefly before narrowing his eyes into the leaves.
"Sonic, Shadzie isn't going to go anywhere..." Amy sighed. "He'll come back, give him time." She spoke sternly to the blue freckled hedgehog.
She rested her hand on his shoulder, gazing up at the long-eared hedgehog, giving him a curt nod. She began to step back, walking back to the town centre. Sonic stayed behind for a few more moments, looking up at his child before following after her.

Well, I hope you like this piece, it was rather fun to shade and colour with greens, especially something that wasn't meant to be nothing more than a sketch. There are some issues within the sudden block of writing, I know that, but the main focus is the art. I'm not a writer.
And I know you may be confused with SJ being called Shadzie and being referred to as female whenever Sonic spoke. Simply sonic doesn't know SJ is trans, yes he'd accept SJ, but since SJ is so paranoid over sonic not accepting him due to past mistakes, he never told him. Amy knows, hence the "he'll come back".
And finally, no this is in no way Sonamy, Sonic and Amy are strictly friends and have different partners.
