Epilogue - Vision of Passion

Day time has fallen into night as the two atypical felines continued to have endless fun inside Joliant.  Frostcat has once again found pure happiness that he had forgotten all those years as a child.  Their constant rivalry among carnival games brought in more attention to the crowd of Lunatea then the main attractions themselves when suddenly Mommett conveniently stood between them and the crowd.  "I'm terribly sorry folks but that concludes the event for today."  Frost and Klonoa quickly turned around to finally realize that there was a big crowd following them to see who was the better performer as they continued on with their own fun.  "hehe, oops." the embarrassed dream traveler said.  "Sorry about that Mommett.  We didn't mean to take your audience away."  Mommett replied joyfully "Are you kidding?  That was the greatest display between two great heroes on our wonderful challenges.  To be honest, I didn't think the mobian here would be able to catch up."  Frostcat did his routine smirk and said "So long as I got my sweeper, it shouldn't be too hard."  "Really?" Klonoa quickly responded.  "Then how about a winner take all race?"  The blue flame feline tilted his head saying "You've got to be kidding."  The long-eared cat mimicked Frost's smirk a explained "I've been getting a bit faster after your world merged with ours.  So I think I can beat you no problem."  Without a second thought, Frostcat instantly accepted his challenge. "Alright then.  Where to?"  "You walked here right?  Remember seeing a stone like trail leading to an island with the tree in the middle of the river?" Klonoa asked.  "Yeah, I remember that area.  First one wins it all right?" as Frostcat readies himself.  "Under one condition!" the dream warrior interrupted.  "No ice on the ground...and no time control."  "Heh, you're really pushing the limits huh?  Okay then, no sweeper, no ice."  The two felines agreed as they positioned themselves at the walkway leading to the exit gates of Joliant.  The crowd gathered to the sides as the Mommett dolls centered themselves with flags in their hands.  "On your mark!  Get S-E-T......GO!!!"[/color]  As the dolls waved their flags down the two heroes ran as fast as they could hearing the crowd calling out their respective names making Frost more confident in beating Klonoa on foot for the first time.

The two cats made their way to the trail, hopping on one small island to the next.  As they get closer to the goal, Klonoa noticed something on the water going by only to see Frostcat skating to the main island.  "What the...HEY!" he shouted when Frost responded "You said on the ground!  You didn't say water!" laughing a bit as he gets closer.  Frost was sure he had the race won until he saw a light blue bullet move in front of him from the side.  "Oh son of aaAAAHHHHHH!!!!" as he was quickly lifted into the air and into the water by the main island after being hit by Klonoa's tornado attack.  The dream traveler laughed as he sees Frost's sword stabbing the side of the island climbing up to the top soaking wet.  "Hah, hah.  Very funny."  Frost said as he smiled and concentrates his power to coat himself in thin ice from the water that was soaking him.  Once he broke from the freeze dried cover he followed "You're lucky I'm able to dry myself off."  They both smiled to each other for a brief moment and Frost looked around him and saw something striking familiar.  From hopping island to island, to climbing up to the main island, to the rocky walls with a few waterfalls apart from each other.  It was as if this area was a miniature of the area where they both met and fought each other.  But he also caught a glimpse of the surrounding towns and then the night sky itself.  The mobian simply turned looking out towards the surrounding water and sat down starring at the night sky.  Klonoa had a curious look upon himself as he walked toward and sat right beside him.  Klonoa gazed at the blue flamed feline more as Frost was deep in thought.  He then followed suite and looked at the sky with him.  Minutes pass as they hear the soft crashes of water from the falls around them and feeling the calming winds that flows by.  It was at that peaceful moment when Frostcat spoke.  "Beautiful...."  Klonoa shifted his eyes to Frost "Huh?"  "You're lucky you know." Frost continued as Klonoa wonders what he was saying. "Lunatea, and Phantomile...There's no darkness, no evil in the worlds.  Although I've yet to see Phantomile myself, everything in Lunatea is perfect.  I know Volk has their share of arena battles, but everything else...the woods, fields, the people, even the King of Sorrow is himself here.  It's just something that I want to experience without thinking what Robotnik will do next.  It may be a while until we achieve that goal.  But at least this is something to look forward to when that time comes."  Afterward Frost closed his eyes and smiles taking in every moment of Lunatea's peacefulness.

Klonoa then thought back to everything that they went through.  The times that they really first met as kids before they were separated within the void.  To the time when they crossed paths as enemies and settled their differences toward the main threat in what could have been a never ending world of darkness and chaos.  As well as their adventures within the mist of it all when the three worlds merged.  Then he realized what he was so curious about.  It was something the ice warrior said before that made him wonder.  "F...Frost?"  Klonoa calmly asks.  Frost hums as he still enjoys the relaxing moment.  "Remember what you said when you broke free from Ghadius' spell?"  Frostcat was replaying that fateful moment at the nightmare filled abandoned Death Egg.  The moment he became a negative version of himself and was about to strike Klonoa down with his dark wave from his sword until the wave passes through the dream traveler and exploded in a flash of light morally wounding the dark king.  When he regained control of himself he boldly states "You think you can control me with my fears?  Think again!....Thanks to him, he showed me everything that there is to live for!  And you believe that you can take that all away?!.....Now it's time to show you how we mobians handle our nightmares!"  Frostcat then opened his eyes and looks more outward into the stars and answered "Yeah.  I do."  Klonoa became nervous for a little bit until he was strong enough to ask "Did...you mean it....everything that you said?"  Frost looked down and closed his eyes again and ask "What kind of question is that?" and answers by saying "Of course I meant every word."  Frost explains his meaning. "All of the feelings that I've experienced, I thought I would never feel again.  From the time we flew to the floating island, to the time we helped Firebird free the Babylon Rogues, to the fun times we've had when Station Square merged with Joliant."  He then gave a serious grin and said "Even the times that we've fought each other for our own purposes before the real mess even started.  It was like something that was missing from me that has finally filled.  And I enjoyed every second of it because of you."  The cool and sensible feline then glanced to the long eared cat and end by saying "Klonoa...Thank you."  Proud of himself for admitting everything to his long lost friend, Frostcat looked back into the sky.  Klonoa was stunned upon Frost's answer as he thinks back through the times he's been with him, he notices the meaningful expressions Frost gave to Klonoa.  Especially the full connection and the true bond to one another after defeating Ghadius and surviving the massive explosion.

Klonoa then smiled and chuckled for a brief second.  "You're wrong Frostcat." He said in a soft tone.  Frost gave another hum when the dream traveler suddenly followed "I didn't show you everything."  Frost was a bit puzzled by Klonoa's response.  He then turned his head to him and asks "What are you talking abouu..."  What the....  Frost had no idea what he expected next nor what to even do at that very instant.  His hands were completely behind him on the ground and if he were to move he would never forgive himself.  His eyes were wide open in a mixture of shock and confusion as the side of his face was gently being caressed by his friends soothing touch.  Even though he wanted to say something, his lips were completely locked by the dream traveler's own.  There was something stirring within the ice warrior that he had never experienced before.  The gentle movements of Klonoa's hand against his cheek, the soft and intense pressure of his lips pressing against Frost's, and the calming warm breath exhaling across his face.  It was scary the first until Frost began to close his eyes taking in every second of this unknown feeling that was within him.  Frost can feel himself twitching in his eyes and hands but he remained as clam as he can be.  The courageous feline then began to open his mouth while he was still against Klonoa's.  The dream traveler then followed with the nervous cat.  But the moment he moved his tongue and pressed against Frost's, he can start to feel his breathing begin to go a little faster than before.  Frost first experience of tongue touching has send his heart racing as fast as his hero Sonic can run.  He tried to be settle as best as he could, but he didn't know what to do.  Klonoa knew by his constant heavy breathing that this is his first real and passionate kiss.  He then opened his mouth fully and leaned back in hopes that he didn't frighten his friend.  Frost felt as if he became paralyzed from the unexpected rush as was panting heavily catching his breath.  "Klo...no-a....I..."

Klonoa looked at the embarrassed mobian and gave out a little chuckle.  "I see.  This is your first time isn't it?"  Frostcat's new found shock was starting to reside the moment Klonoa asked.  "Well...I...eehhh.." he could only blush and looked down a bit thinking of the time when he started his journey toward Knothole running into Blaze.  He tried his best to explain the details his first fling with her without feeling even more ridiculous.  "Really?" Klonoa asked and continued softly.  "That was just for fun.  But this..." caressing his hand against the slightly nervous feline's cheeks again.  "....this is how a friendship can truly be revealed to one another."  As the dream traveler closed what little gap they had between them, he softly placed his forehead against Frost's and said "But you're going to have to trust me on this one.  Okay?"   The ice warrior has mustered enough confidence to move around from his 'frozen' state.  He closed his eyes for a moment and slowly began to return the favor by caressing his hand against Klonoa's cheeks.  "heh....Did you...really have to ask?"  He pulled his head back a little to look as his long-eared friend eye to eye and replied "Of course I trust you..." At the split second he knew what Klonoa meant.  He knew what that little something he was missing in his life that Klonoa is showing him now.  Passion.  Romance.  Love.  Feelings that the bold, cool, and courageous ice warrior would never even cross his mind until now.  He didn't want to risk ruining this special moment between the two heroes but Frost shifted his eyes for an instant "...and maybe..." looking back deep into Klonoa's eyes "...something even more."  Klonoa gave a warm smile to his mobian friend and leaned forward again as the two felines fully embrace their true feelings in each others kiss knowing full well that this will only be the beginning of a most memorable night.
