Actually, police are taught to shoot for "center of mass", i.e. chest. (I know, he had his back to her so it would be upper back.) Only a REALLY good shot should shoot for the head because it's such a small target compared to the body.

He's not walking any where any time soon. Shot in the spine, right about where the sciatic nerves split off the spinal cord. He'll live, but someone's gonna have to push him around.

I hope you'll get better soon. Glad It's not covid-19. I know with your career, you're around a lot of stupid people who don't take this stuff serious and could have gotten you sick. Great work as usual.

bruh no, you gotta shoot him more times and one in the head. maybe 2. all she did was hit the spine and sent him into shock and paralyzed him. I mean he may die from the lack of spinal fluid but heck that'll take months.

It's not shoot to kill; it's shoot to stop the threat. Thankfully, not all cops are so trigger happy as to unload their entire magazine into a suspect. It is also a judgment call on the officer's end; officers do not want to kill people. They want the threat to stop. She very well could have killed him. I think the restraint on her part shows her character. He may have killed her friend but she doesn't let her anger push her into killing him.

Sweetheart, as a cop you should have been taught to never, EVER release your firearm until you verify the perp is dead. He could have a hidden firearm that you don't know about.

True, but we also aren't given live specimen to kill with live bullets (beanbags and rubber pellets, which hurt like a bitch, but it's nothing compared to the severity of a bullet going through skin and watching them fall); to take someone's life is something that you can't train a reaction to. Every person is different in their reaction to killing someone, but even professionals can lapse in training judgement when doing something like this (I've seen officers cry, begging the suspect not to force them to shoot them). )-:

Yes. Some people have no trouble dropping somebody, especially in self-defense. Other people couldn't pull a trigger even in defense of someone else. But, I'm pretty sure that releasing your weapon, even if you don't fire it, is something that a cop is trained to never do under any situation. Personally, I'd hate to be put in that situation.

I've been checking Inkbunny every day to see when the next page would be up, and it did not disappoint! This has really turned into one heck of a clusterfluff, but I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how it all turns out. I hope you get well soon too! I've been dealing with a wicked sinus infection the last few days so you have my deepest sympathies.

Well, at least we know she not a vicioues Psycopath like the man who's spine she just severed. Now if she could just save her frined, that'd be grate. Not sure how she's going to manage that now with her hands shakeing though...

That was way to easy, I suspected that he would have catlike reflexes and go down as easy but only time will tell. It's a shame he and the cat could have made a cute couple, but sadly I guess work still comes first even if your a cop or assassin.
