I get the impression she's sitting there letting him get more worked up. Then she will get ready to come down again taking her time letting him get enraged. Then will precicely whip his ass thinking clearly and calmly while his emotions blind him.

That or taking mild amusement in just letting him get more and more worked up. Really it's likely a mix of the two motives.
