This is Cheekie Sweetbottom, a skunk boy! He wants to be a squirrel and wears a costume to help him look like one. He often tries to do squirrel-y things like climbing tress but he is not very good at it x3
Cheekie likes cuddle-roughhousing with his friends and stretching out in his comfy little costume. :3
Cheekie is very self-conscious about the stereotype of smelly skunks, and he often rubs flower petals on his clothes to give himself a floral scent. He doesn't actually stink at all normally, but it helps him feel better about himself.
Character Flaws/Weaknesses:
Cheekie has very low self-esteem due to skunk stereotyping, and he doesn't even like the word 'skunk' said around him. He avoids being seen without his costume when at all possible (he has several to have a change of clothes).
Cheekie can be a bit silly and prone to trying to entice reactions from others with his mischief. He has a hard time acting serious.
Design Notes:
Cheekie is basically what would happen if someone became a furry when they were already a different fuzzy little animal ^^
I also wanted to be able to show the emotional hurt caused by prejudice and stereotyping without getting too dark or depressing.
Cheekie's costume needed to be close-fitting enough to see the curves of his body (especially the all-important butt), yet still have a loose, pajama like feel. Thus I went for this look where the costume clings snugly to his torso, and tapers off into puffiness at the ends near his paws. The costume originally came with a tail, but he had to remove it and make a hole for his actual tail. :3
His real name is Cheekie Stinkbottom, but don't ever ever use this in front of him you'll hurt his feelings. :<
