Character Sheet for Kale
Character Description
Kale is tall for a red fox, and he prides himself in keeping in peak condition. He knows he has to keep in his best shape so he can help keep his new community safe. He has reddish orange fur, and purple eyes. His hands, ears, tail, and feet are all dark fur tipped, while he has pale fur on his chest.
Kale runs a small community in a forest, and protects it with every bit of aggression and savagery that he can muster. He actively fosters that the forest is haunted and unfriendly to humans, and he constantly robs, hunts, and drives away any that stray within its borders. When he isn't doing that, he is often out on raids to free slaves. One of these raids is where he met his mate, Guinevere, or Gini as she commonly is called. The two became lovers almost immediately, and it wasn't long before Gini was carrying his child, his daughter Katerina.
Personality
Kale is typically rather stoic when he's around others. He doesn't like revealing his more emotional underside, a quality beat into him from countless lashings where he refused to show a modicum of pain to his abusers. To his mate Gini, he reveals his more vulnerable underside, his constant fear and concern, and if it wasn't for this small outlet, he would have found it overwhelming. Before he became a mate to Gini, he drank a lot to take away some of the edge. He enjoys being alone in the forest, especially now that it has become a bit of a rarity, and often sneaks off with his mate to find some quiet corner where they can be alone together

Likes: Alcohol, his mate, long baths, long runs, and communal parties
Dislikes: humans, slavery, government, archers (too many close calls)
Background/History
Kale was born to escaped slave thrallkin, born while they were on the run from their former masters. He was one when they were caught again, and he was forced away from his family and into slavery.
As a pup, his life wasn't terrible. It was still hard, but he wasn't often punished, and was able to actually learn how to read and write by sneaking away and watching classes at a local school. His masters found him to be a rather bright slave, but this same intelligence proved to be a curse, as he began finding more and more ways to escape, and eventually, began to try to run away and leave his life of slavery. After several of these attempts, he was moved to more harsh labor in the pit mines of his master.
There he lived for years, becoming strong, and getting many more scars from his constant attempts to escape slavery. When he was sixteen, he was able to finally escape, strangling one of the slave masters with the chains at his wrists as he was being dragged back to his master.
The young fox began to steal to keep alive, and he found himself to be very adept with using a dagger. eventually, he began to free other slaves, taking them to a place in a deep woods that he had found and used as a hideout.
Before long, more and more slaves found their way there, either freed by Kale and the others he had in turn freed, or fleeing their because they heard rumors of safety. As the community grew, Kale became it's defacto soul, though he left much of it's running to others. He is ever more concerned with keeping it safe, knowing that it will be harder to hide the larger it becomes.

World/Setting
This is a fantasy world. Thrallkin (anthros) were created by mages as a slave species. Most thrallkin wear enchanted collars or have magical tattoos, spells that keep them subservient and docile. Some, however, live in areas where mages are hard to find, and the magics slowly begin to wear away, and the slaves become less subservient, often trying to escape.
Body
Kale is tall and lean muscled, an endurance build. He has red orange fur with off white chest markings. He has mid length fluffy fur. His ears, tail, hands, and feet are all dark furred, the dark marks of his hands and legs running up to about his knees and elbows. He has white furred paw tips, however. He has violet eyes and a dark nose.
Clothing
Kale prefers clothes that don't make much noise. He typically wears a dark hooded sleeveless shirt and dark pants. He wears a red sash that he stole from a baron. He also wears some hardened leather armor on his chest, as well as hard leather gauntlets on his hands. He has brown leather boots, and binds his arms to keep the gauntlets from chaffing, as well as wears dark gloves.
Accessories
Kale is never without his dagger, a great multipurpose tool that he is very proficient with. He often carries a rope with a grappling head that he can use to scale walls, catch people fleeing with, or bind people up. His belt has two large pouches, in which he carries chalk to help him climb, small stones for distractions, lock picks, some small explosives, bandages, a hip flask with alcohol, and some other small tools that he often uses to gain access to places.
