Shigatsu - Ougonshukan - Shouwa no Hi.
April, Golden Week and Showa Day.
Today's theme is Showa Day! Historically, Emperor's Birthday. However, over time, became specifically Showa Day. The first day of the so-called Golden Week. A week that happens annually, where the most public holidays are observed in Japan. From Showa Day, to Children's Day.
This day is accompanied with the observance of mindfulness and learning from the past.
Due to the historical significance of the day, being inherently a part of the Emperor and Imperial Family, the inspiration for this piece was taken directly from the Emperor's Mon. Tried my best to keep consistent colours, as well. Whilst remaining simplistic, as is the point.
This is part four to the initiative project, "Twelve Month Holidays" [Japan].
